For the Vancouverites:
Monty Python's Life of Brian is showing at the Granville 7 tonight at 7 o'clock.
I haven't seen this movie since I was six years old and my mom's boyfriend had a marathon of Monty Python; the only scene that stuck was of a guy eating until he exploded. I'm not even sure which movie that came from.

That was in Meaning of Life, which for my money is far better than Life of Brian. Life of Brian lacks subtlety.

This was the coolest thing I've seen since the first time I saw the Matrix in 1999. Specifically: bearded viola man.

I agree, it does kinda fall apart at the end - but I still fucking love it!

Prometheus I can see why Pea didn't like it. I agree that there is a certain element of cheese to the film. On the other hand, I completely side with FD who said that every shot in the film is fucking beautiful.
Personally, I enjoyed the film. It's not exactly what I was expecting it to be, but I still enjoyed the ride. Also, the ending was fucking intense. I really loved the last 20+ minutes especially.
I know there's a lot of talk about doing a sequel, but really I'm hoping they don't. Just leave it alone and do something different.
Brave Catherine and I went to see this yesterday. While I can admit it was a cute film, there just wasn't anything special about it. The whole thing just seemed safe. I love that Pixar decided to venture out and do an entirely different type of film than the stuff they had done before, but in the end the whole thing was just kinda *well, I guess it was okay.*

I want to see Brave but it looks like another Disney Princess movie. Aladdin in Scotland, and without Aladdin.

She is the hero, not Aladdin. I read an interesting article on how they basically invented a new fairy tale.

Saw Ted with Lucy and some of our friends. It got quite a few laughs from us, including parts that weren't meant to be funny like Marky Mark trying to act seriously. It's basically a long episode of Family Guy with the joke delivery and such but what can I say? I like family guy.

My friends stopped going to the movies with me because I laugh at all the wrong parts.

Is it wrong to be in love with the 12 year old from Moonrise Kingdom?
