We had the most fun ever this weekend. KY came down from Canada and stopped along the way to pick up Burrito and Nadine. But we Dr. Garbanzoured why stop there?? and called up Switch, Switch's hot wife and wonk (as well as a couple of non-boarder friends, but who cares about them amirite??).

There ended up being too many people for a game of Monopoly, but we went on a most excellent adventure down to the rhododendron gardens near our house. Then we came home and listened to records and had really deep, personal, highly animated conversations until about 6:00am.

It was a really special thing to have happen for Stormy's birthday. Thanks to everyone that came for helping make it happen, and special thanks to KY for turning our home into a people pinata.

So, on Friday night we were looking forward to hanging with our two friends and getting silly for my birthday. Then ten hours later it had gone from just our two friends to Ky, Burrito, Nadine, Switch (we forgot we had the same birthday), Switch's Hot Wife, and Wonk. That was the best birthday gift I could have ever received. I got to hang out with all of my friends and talk and walk around and listen to records. It was so great. I truly hope everyone had as great a time as I did. We got to go see the Rhododendron garden with them and I love bringing people there. We didn't have much time since it was getting dark, but it was a great walk with a fantastic sunset.

I really felt and still feel like the luckiest person in the world. It can be hard to make friends as an adult, and especially ones that are the same kinds of weird and like music in the same capacity. I am so happy to have met so many new friends and that they would just decide to come over and see me on my birthday. Thank you so much.

Another thing that happened was that Switch gave me a copy of Beachwood Sparks' Once We Were Trees on vinyl when he came over! I have only ever seen this once in a record store, probably seven years ago. I didn't buy it then and I've been kicking myself over it ever since -- but no more!

Switch is a real fuckin' prince. I'm gonna miss him and his hot wife real bad when they move down to Texas.

Anyways, the happy ending is that the speaker works as expected. J-Dawg has a real sound system again!

I think I caught something in Calgary. I have had a total of 5 hours of sleep in the past two days and I haven't had any caffeine today. I can't fall asleep and I have to be up in 5 hours.

Having 20 10 year old girls and their parents thank me yesterday almost brought me to tears. I was so caught up in running the final 3 on 3 tourny and giving out prizes that it really caught me off guard.
