I had my Bose computer speakers at a RIDICULOUSLY reasonable level earlier tonight, and within a minute the fucking cunt lady that lives above me stomped on her floor as hard as possible and screamed, "TURN THAT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!" Mind you, this is my second full day in this apartment and I haven't even so much as made a single peep yet or even met her. Fuuuuuuuck that.

No, dude. The first thing I noticed when moving in here was how thin the ceilings were, so I've made damn sure to be as respectful as possible. I mean, I could hear what the news anchor was saying from her fucking TV when I got home from work today. It's ridiculous. If she could feel the bass from my speakers, then by all means I'll turn them off, but to stomp on the fucking floor and scream at me from her apartment just put her on my major shit list. When did people stop knocking on your door and politely ask you to turn your music down?

My advice after living next to some seriously shitty neighbours over the years? Go up there with a peace offering (donuts, a cheap bottle of wine.) Whenever I have a big bbq or party in the summer I'll bring some of the ribs and snacks over early and let them know I'm having a shindig and if it gets too loud to come let me know. Introduce yourself and point out the fact that you're new and noticed the walls are thin and that you can hear her TV as well. Let her know that if you're ever too loud to come down and knock or give her your number and that you'll do the same. If she continues to be a bitch then consider it a decleration of war.
