Occupy Boise was set to be evicted today at 5pm, but our legal team filed for a federal injunction to prevent it as soon as the bill to evict us was passed and we received the judge's preliminary order. Here is what I had to say about it, along with a link to a copy of the order:
Federal Judge Winmill has granted, at least in part, Occupy Boise a temporary injunction which for now (pending an evidentiary hearing at a future date) will prevent the state from removing any tents at the 5pm deadline which was set for the eviction today. It should be noted, however, that the court has said that they will not stop the state from removing means of cooking, open fires, and personal artifacts related to camping but they have moved the deadline for this until March 2nd.
There is still a long legal battle to be fought, and the ultimate outcome of it remains to be seen, but congratulations to Occupy Boise and especially our Legal Working Group who have busted their asses to obtain this victory for us. Do you think Emperor "Butch" Otter, Grand Viceroy Scott Bedke, and every other person in the Capitol who voted for HB404 anticipated such a well-represented, logical, and most importantly, constitutional contention of HB404? I highly doubt it. It is high time that the electorate, regardless of which portion it is, stand up for their constitutionally granted rights as we as a society move forth to redress our concerns with out government.

Andrew Breitbart must have finally discovered the holy grail of Obama's official Kenyan birth certificate, causing his heart to explode.

i will never challenge that Cleveland has had a shitty existence in sports history. It's probably the saddest place to be as a sports fan, no doubt. Seattle has had it pretty bad, too. They were #1 on the Forbes list last year, after all!
But 2011 was probably the most miserable year for Atlanta fans, dare I say more miserable than any single year Cleveland teams have ever had to endure?
in one calendar year: FALCONS- we had the best record in the entire league and then promptly got slammed by Aaron Rodgers in our first playoff game. Misery Factor 8.5/10
HAWKS - we made it to the playoffs again, and got knocked out again. Misery Factor 6.5/10
THRASHERS- After another shitty season with zero attendance, they packed up and moved to Canada. Misery Factor 5.0/10
Do I need to remind you about the BRAVES? As if being baseball's biggest postseason chokers in recent history wasn't enough, they took suffering to a whole new level with MLB's greatest regular season collapse of all time... Oh yeah, the team that took our playoff spot? The Cardinals. They won the world series. Misery Factor 9.5/10
and let's not forget about our WNBA team, the DREAM. Our ladies made it to the WNBA finals and what? That's right. We LOST. SWEPT. For the second year in a row! Misery Factor 10/10
Not even Cleveland can compete with that kind of suffering.
