I've come to expect the worst in bills which are so ambiguous that some fear they can be used to curtail free speech because they almost always are eventually used in such a manner.

Thanks for posting that link Pea. That really sucks. One of my favourite things in life is the opening of a CD. Peeling back the plastic, opening the case, reading the liner notes, looking at what the CD looks like, getting that new CD smell and so on.
I guess that means if the CD goes away then so does album art.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are picturing me peeling a carrot with a staple gun. |

I completely agree with all of that. I just missed the cassette tape years so I'm a total product of the dawn of CDs.
I'll never forget the first CD I ever bought

Awesome. That U2 song is fucking unbelievable. My first CD was the soundtrack to Colors.

Buy vinyl. Bigger art and now almost all come with free mp3 downloads.

I am slowly making the transition to vinyl and love it. That will soften the blow I suppose.

Album art isn't going away, the "cover" of an album is as symbolic as some of the music contained. The cover art is still displayed in digital formats, and it will continue to.

I understand that, but what I was getting was the physical side of the album art. Looking at the cover on an iPod, iPhone, computer screen or whatever is not the same as seeing it in the physical form of a CD of vinyl.
But you are right in that the "cover" will always be there to look at in some form.
