I'm trying out your sauce soon Stormy. Sounds rad. In turn I shall share my bolognese recipe with you.

1 Onion (shredded)
2 Carrots (shredded)
4-7 cloves of minced garlic dependent on taste
4ish cups of beef stock
1 small can of tomato paste (1 cup??)
1 lb of lean ground beef (half for sauce, half for meatballs)
1 lb of shredded spicy sausage (half for sauce, half for meatballs)
Salt
Pepper
Thyme
Oregano
Basil
Chili flakes
1/4 cup of olive oil
1-2 cups of milk

Heat the oil to a pan at medium high heat. Add the carrots and onion and sautee until they become kind of translucent. Then add the garlic, thyme, oregano and chili flakes and cook for another couple of minutes. Then add a cup of the stock. Slowly add the beef and pork. Add only half or 3/4 of the pack and save the rest for meatballs. As you're adding the meat add more of the stock when necessary to keep the meat moist. Once the meat is mostly cooked (around 10 mins) add the milk and let it reduce for a couple of mins until the liquid has gone down by almost half. Then stir in the tomato paste. Keep adding the rest of the stock with some salt and pepper until it gets to the flavour you're looking for. If it's still has too much of that sour ketchupy taste, then add more stock. Add your meatballs (see recipe below) to the sauce and let it simmer on a low heat for 5 minutes. Pour it on some nice pasta that has been tossed in a bit of butter and then top it with some fresh basil and a nice parmesan cheese.

Meatballs:
Rest of your beef and sausage
1 egg
4-5 dashes of Worsch sauce
thyme
oregano
salt
pepper
onion powder
mustard powder
garlic powder
chili powder
bread or cracker crumbs

Mix it all together in a bowl. Form them into little balls and then throw them into a 400 degree oven until they're around 3/4 done. Then throw them in your sauce and let them simmer until they're done.

Lol shaxgetti!

My meatball recipe is pretty much the same as my burger patty recipe except remove the oregano and add some bbq sauce and liquid smoke.

I made arugula pesto. I had a ton of arugula in the fridge languishing from when I only wanted a little and had to buy a big tub of it. I roasted a chicken breast and some potatoes and we ate it with those. It was rad.

2 cups packed arugula
1/4 cup roughly chopped walnuts
3-4 medium garlic cloves
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup finely grated fresh Parmesan cheese
lemon juice
salt and black pepper

Since I just have a mini food processor thing I chopped half of the arugula, garlic, and almonds, took it out, chopped the other half of them, and then combined. Then I added the oil in small amounts and pulsed because I could not find the lid where you can pour it in while running. Added lemon juice (started out with a couple of teaspoons or so, just squeezed it on in there), cheese, salt, and pepper and pulsed to combine. I ended up adding a little more lemon juice and a bit more salt.

Alright ya schmucks, get off yer asses and go make this damn spaghetti and meatballs tonight. Rob thought it was his birthday it was so damn good. Thank you very much Shax for the recipe, it was totally different than my usual pasta sauce and is making for some delicious leftovers that I'm having a very hard time not eating until lunch right now.

Yay! Glad you liked it. Sometimes I make extra meatballs and then have meatball subs for leftover lunch.

Made like, a million jars o' jam tonight. First time ever, I'm really hoping that they turn out alright! All of the fruit came from our backyard which is pretty sweet. I always forage for fruit and never can can use it all so I'm pretty excited about this new venture! I made:

Backyard Blackberry - Obvs
Fifth St. Fusion - Green plum/yellow plum/blackberry
Parking Lot Pep - Spicy Yellow Plum
Little Green Plum (to the chune of little green bag) - Also obvs

Sounds yummy. I want to make jam, but growing most fruit in Calgary is an exercise in FRUITility. ZING!

I think I may try pickling this year. Going to have some extra peppers and baby cukes.

Do it! It's surprisingly easy, and has the best results. My pickled asparagus is the best thing I've ever done.
