Haha. I get it. But we both have our trade secrets. HG doesn't want me to reveal them to anyone.

I just think the idea of our friends trying to re-create your chili would be such a travesty. I think they should have to come to you, like some kind of chili oracle.

honestly, i was just joking around.
the basic staples are simple: 4 types of beans, turkey breast meat, stewed tomatoes and a diced onion.
but the spices are the key - and those i won't divulge to anyone.

All this chili talk is making me hungry. For the record, I make terrible chili, usually flavorless. I need to Dr. Garbanzoure out spices or something. Agreed with the choice of stew meat (or turkey), ground beef is the easist way to make forgettable chili. I've made an above average white chili before though, basically like a chicken soup with beans.

So I'm getting the idea that the board meet up game will no longer be Capture the LSD Soaked Flag... maybe now, Eat The LSD filled Chili!

Hahahahaa... I love this conversation, and chili is also my favorite to cook. I cheat with the slow cooker though. The multiple bean idea is definitely intriguing although they don't sell bush brand here in Canada and those beans are the ones that interested me.

I also make a mean pasta sauce.

Try Save on Foods or Overweightea, they got 'em in Alberta.

I make a wicked Cincinnati chili. Sorry I'm a little late to the chili convo.

Haha, no worries, Drew.

Is Cincinnati chili the one with noodles?

Yeah, and it's sort of sweet. I use chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and chinese 5-spice, among other spices. Served over noodles with raw onion, fresh grated cheese, and kidney beans.

Hmm. My uncle puts cinnamon in his chili too. When my brother was a kid, he'd put honey on top of his, which was interestingly good. Although, I've never thought of cloves and chocolate in chili.

That said, I officially vote to have a boarder chili cook-off.
Turkey chili, beanless chili, meatless chili, sweet chili. Bring it on!
