The doors to the venue open Friday at 3pm. Generally the music starts an hour after the gates open.

Read through the thread from last year and whatnot, still wondering about a couple things, though.

1.Any idea how long we can expect to wait to get into the festival on Friday? Went to Bonnaroo last year and it was like 9 hours we had to sit in our car and wait.

2. Can any Seattle residents recommend some cool things to check out in Seattle, aside from the Space Needle? Coming from the Midwest, so it'd be excellent to have some things to scope out in the city before Sasq.

I've never waited longer than an hour or so to get in... I know I'm lucky in this regard though. If you get there Thursday around the time they are opening the gates (5PM) to the campground, it shouldn't be too bad as I imagine quite a few people will be working that day. It will be very busy through the night Thursday into Friday...

I'll leave your second question up to a Seattleite.

1. It will definitely not take 9 hours. Really, I don't think I've ever had to wait in line for more than 2 hours or so, and its actually kind of a fun wait.

2. The EMP (Experienced Music Project) is alright. You could also check out Pike Place Market which is free, and awesome. Other people who've spent more time in Seattle could probably guide you better.

Codymeh--I think the boy and I are gonna check out a mariners game while in Seattle. Also, check out Pike Place. That area has great shopping, food, and even a farmers market. Last year, we hung out in Olympia, too. Abd if you have a day to spare, take a day trip to Portland. Totally worth it. :-)

Ah! J! I've heard great things about EMP. That's a good suggestion!

I forgot to mention that we also drove out to Aberdeen to check out Cobain's stomping grounds. It was super cool to see, but insanely depressing.

Oh yeah, totally. Safeco is an awesome place. I've only been to a couple of games, but it is really nice there.

That's what I've heard. When we drove into the city, it certainly was a gorgeous looking stadium. Can't say I follow the team, but I love going to games.

I'm pretty sure stamps wants to go after Sasquatch. I don't know the absolute details, so don't quote me on it. You should go with us! Borders unite at a mariners game!! :)

So down. Tickets are cheap, too. Depending on where you sit.

Go to a Mariners game.

Hang out on Capitol Hill. Go to Molly Moon's and eat ice cream in Cal Anderson Park. Drink at the bars, and then get a hot dog from one of the street vendors.

Drink coffee at Victrola or Vivace. People may mistakenly direct you toward Bauhaus -- do not go. Victrola is on the same block and infinitely better in every respect.

If you go to Pike Place you should also pay a visit to the wall of gum, which is located on the south side of the market right below the outside staircases. It's the most disgustingly awesome thing ever.
