 Tolerance
« Thread Started on Feb 26, 2008, 11:07pm »

I was wondering how marijuana friendly this event is. I assume fairly since to this former Midwest country boy the NW in general seems to be fairly tolerant at least in comparison, but you never know. I usually rank this on a scale of 0-4.

0 - bring more alcohol
1 - bring joints
2 - bring oney
3 - bring bong
4 - bring hookah

Sasquatch! is extremely weed friendly...

Its very easy to bring your stash through security, a small pipe and maybe some joints.

Once inside there are many many smokers around, in fact I doubt there is anywhere to sit in the gorge during Sasquatch! that you dont smell it most of the time.

Ive been to both '06 & '07 festivals and had no problem getting through security and smoked pretty much the whole day right in the open. Nobody has ever said a word to me about it except once when someone asked if I had any extra for sale.

On your walk from the campground to the Gorge there is usually people selling glass and last year we even saw someone selling 'special' rice crispy treats before you get to the entrance.

Overall i would rank both the Gorge and the campground a 5 on a scale of 1-5 (5 being most tolerant) haha i didn't get your scale.

yeah, getting alcohol in is way, way harder. i mean, sometimes the security is really lax, and if you're clever and creative you can get tons of alcohol in. often, they're assholes though. last year, on the 2nd day, they were so intense that everyone i was with missed the first few acts, which we really wanted to catch. i'd like to see some consistency this year.
pot is easy though. i mean, getting a bong in wouldnt be easy though.
could someone bring a hookah? it just seems like bringing one in wouldn't be too weird. everyone is sitting in the grass smoking something anyway. a hookah seems like it would be cool, if it's allowed...
probably not i guess.

Yeah, the scale was half joking. Only time i saw a hookah at an event was Bridge School Benefit in 01.

The one time being in a power wheelchair really comes in handy in life is for smuggling stuff. They're so afraid to touch you or the chair that they usually wave you right through, mwhahaha.

Good to know though thanks guys.

ill prolly get smited for this... but guys BE CAREFUL ab what you talk ab on the boards!!! if you want the festival to continue being 'friendly' to things you want to bring in, you have to be discrete ab the fact you are bringing them.

Yeah, I'm sure the Fuzz are really monitoring these boards closely, what with there being about 100 members and all. If fans of Sasquatch don't frequent this board, I highly doubt the the police do. And I hardly think it's some well kept secret that people smoke marijauna at rock concerts. But thanks for the warning anyways.

I would suggest purchasing the invisible cloak, which you can find at www.invisiblecloak.com.

I would also go with the "attached wings that make me fly." You can find these at www.learningtofly.com. This will ensure easy entrance, and easy movement between stages.

If you cannot afford these luxuries, you should probably stick with the tighty whitey theory. No one is going to grab your groin looking for illegals.

Pints work better, but if you can manage to walk with a fifth in your groin, and your pants are not sticking out, nor are you walking "mentally challenged," go for it.

6 water bottles, four full of water, 2 full of vodka

2 blunts a piece and a sack

I think it would be cool to bring a hookah atleast to the campground. I doubt you would have any trouble, it is legal.
