I always had multiple water bottles of various sizes on me and never got any taken away - but I was usually one of the more um... less... uh... lets just say I didn't look like a trouble maker upon entry.

23oz bottle will be fine unless you somehow manage to get the biggest asshole security guard in the entire universe.
Last year we had a BBQ that took those little green propane campstove cylinders. I'm not sure what you mean by 'gas BBQ' but unless you have a full size BBQ you should be fine.

Being old is helpful in that I am seldom perceived as a trouble maker or drug fiend, even though I Can be both, hehe. I do mean just a little "green bottle" kind of BBQ...

Would fire spinning be frowned on or embraced in camping...

Wasted ya-hoos wielding spinning fire around a shanty town made of flammable material. Can you please do this inside my nylon tent? Next to my gasoline soaked rags. The rags beside the dry kindling. Yes, that kindling sitting on top of my ACME TNT. Thanks.

I have successfully walked into the Gorge with 4-1.5 liter bottles of water 18/18 attempts in the past 5 years.

Question re: water. Do they have anywhere to fill personal water bottles inside the venue?

They have a bunch of taps that you can use to fill your water. They were over by Honeybucket City between the Yeti and Bigfoot. At least they did when I went in 2010.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are picturing me peeling a carrot with a staple gun. |

They did, but last year it flooded the first day and turned into a total disaster. They pulled the whole thing out and there weren't any taps left.
I heard people saying they would fill up your bottle at the medical stations, but I'm not sure.
Hopefully they have it fixed for this year.

And you can bring in an empty nalgene?

I did last year with no issue. I also never had my bag checked, so I'm not positive....

Weren't you there last year? FIRST TIMERS ONLY!
Yes you can bring in empty nalgene bottles, and though I remember the taps between the Yeti and Bigfoot flood every now and then there is another set by the honey buckets between the dance tent and the Sasquatch stage which have never flooded as far as I know.

I only ever brought in "sealed" bottles, never tried a nalgene. And I definitely didn't drink enough water!
