There is no shuttle that goes from "the airport" (remember, the Gorge is more or less equidistant from Seattle and Spokane) to the campground. Your best bet is to jump in a car with someone who can give you a ride, and bring your own small tent so you can camp next to them.

Pretty sure there are shuttles on-site that go from campground to Festival entrance line.

But unless Quincy has its own one-tarmac airport or something, the Gorge remains at least three hours from the nearest airport. But if a moderator for Sasquatch (?) tells you something more about this, please post.

We're thinking of driving to the camp site Thursday night. Is there anywhere to camp the night before the gates open on Friday? Also, we're getting into Seattle early Thursday morning. Any suggestions on places to see in town before we head out to the camp site?

There will likely be some kind of Sasquatch pre-show featuring one or more of the acts from the festival in Seattle on Thursday night.

Outside of that... if you are down for the standard touristy things, go to Pike Place Market, the Space Needle (if you have the money), maybe take a tour (e.g. Ride the Ducks, the Underground tour, etc.).

If you want to do something a little more low-key, just walk around and enjoy the west coast's most beautiful city. (I SAID IT.) Drink on Capitol Hill. Eat good food. If there's a Mariners game, go to it and sit in the bleachers (cheap seats) because it's a beautiful stadium.

In theory, the earlier you show up to the campsite, the better spot you get (ie, closer to the entrance). That isn't really how it turned out last year though.

Last year, camping sold out in April, and there were many people complaining about having tickets, yet not having a chance to camp. They eventually guaranteed entrance to anyone wanting to purchase camping when they got there.

They will probably do the same this year, but it makes more sense to not risk it, and buy your camping pass on Ticketmaster. If you eliminate the possibility that something will go horribly wrong, and ruin your weekend, you will have a much better time.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought a premiere camping pass last year but my girlfriend had to work Saturday so we didn't get up there until Saturday night. Well even though we had a premiere pass things had gotten so out of control that they forced us into the overflow section which was the same dusty area that the day-parkers used. We're getting up there EARLY on Friday this year, and won't waste our money on a premiere pass just in case.

Hey there,

I've been to a couple festivals in Europe but this is my first American festival. Did I get it right that I have to purchase a camping pass ADDITIONALLY to my festival ticket? So, I can see the bands with my 3-day-pass but I am not allowed to spend the night on the campsite? Also, those camping passes are limited?

I'm severly confused. This doesn't make any sense in my European head.

Yep, camping passes are required in addition to the festival passes.

First timer here...

just a few questions:

how much space can I expect at the premier campsite? (I know I can put up a tent... but will I have enough room to put up like a 10' x 10' canopy, as well?)

how many people typically attend Sasquatch? how many camp?

Beer: i know Coors sponsors the event... and tallboys are sold inside the gates... but are there any micro brews available? or is it just the normal domestics?

If I want to kill some time between acts... what's the situation on other attractions/ Venders? I.E. - is there other stuff to do apart from music and comedy?

Sasquatch caps out at around 22,000 people. I think it's done pretty well at selling out lately.

Micro brews, I don't even remember. I think they have a very small selection. In any event, beer is obscenely expensive inside; it's so hard to justify paying for it.

If you aren't seeing comedy/music, you are attempting to find shade to avoid dying. Well, you were last year... 08 was actually kind of nice with occasional clouds/sprinkling, and of course 06 had the insanely nuts hail storm.

As for other entertainment, there are some random booths with shit, I have no idea. I'm paying almost $60 a day to be inside, I am getting my money's worth with music.
