Thoughts/Past experiences with RV's at Sasquatch
« Thread Started on Mar 18, 2010, 7:59am »

I've seen this brought up a couple of times in other threads, but I thought it needed it's own thread.

Is anyone planning on renting an RV for Sasquatch? I'm thinking about canceling my car rental and camping comfortably in an RV.

Does anyone have any experience camping in an RV at Sasquatch? Are you allowed to run a generator? Is there enough space in Premier camping to park an RV without pissing off other campers? Would there be enough space between campsites to leave/return from the campsite?

If everyone could use this thread to share past experiences with RV's at Sasquatch, that would be stellar. ;D

not sure about generators, but RVs have their own section in the premier camping area, so you wouldn't have to worry about pissing anyone off. it's pretty likely an RV would have no problem leaving/returning and i think i saw a couple doing that last year.

Nice, thanks for the feedback!

Does anyone know what the policy would be on towing a second vehicle into the campground.. Is this allowed?

You can run the RV generator, you're just going to piss off your neighbors blowing a constant cloud of black smoke their direction, and pissing off your neighbors never makes for a good weekend. Use it only when necessary.

The official policy is no vehicle re-entry, although it happens. Maybe getting an RV out of premier camping is easy, but in general camping, I've seen areas that only small cars could get out of without having many people move around. If you had to leave the festival, sure, getting 15 people to move for you is doable. If you are then going to come back, good luck.

I've seen a boat towed in the campground. It should be no problem towing a car. As a paying customer, they can't really tell you to leave, and there is no other area to stash your vehicle overnight. They could always charge you an extra camping pass though. You might want to email the organizers to be sure.

Thanks man!

The generator is electric.. I've been doing a little research, it's actually a tiny thing tucked under the RV. I dont imagine it's very loud either..

Anyone ever been to Sasquatch in an RV?

we've gone to sasquatch the last 2 years in a RV. Personally, camping isn't really my thing, so this was a great in between way of doing it. I love the experience other than that you end up sort of in the same boat as everyone else by the end anyway. You do have a comfier setting, but the water on the RV usually runs out by day 2-3, so you're in the shower lines with everyone else. Getting in and out of the grounds is no issue.

I would like to correct a couple of things on here.

1. Your generator puts out electricity, it does not run on electricity. If it is a generator in an rv it runs on propane, gas, or diesel. It will produce exhaust, but depending on the tyope it may not be much. I would beg, bribe, or otherwise get in good with your neighbors and then run it only during times when ppl are normally awake.
2. Last year they combined RV and tent premier sites. Everyone in premier were together. They do give you more room so you should have a neighbor 5' from your rv like in general. This also allows you to camp with your friends that bring tents. I like it that way better.
3. Getting your rv in and out would probably be tough, depending on how good of a driver you are. Last year the roads in premier were pretty well defined, but it is still kinda tight. Check with Live Nation to find out if you can tow a vehicle. Also a lot of rv rentals will not allow you to two a second vehicle. They have liability issues if you were not a good driver and they allow you to do that. As far as re entry to the campground, they have allowed that every year and every concert I have been to. Every year they say no, but when I need to leave for some reason they have me write my license plate on the pass they give you and that shows it is only good for that vehicle.

Hope this helps

i'm convinced that they just say on the website that no re-entry to the campground is allowed because they don't want an extra flood of people leaving to get breakfast/supplies every day and then coming back to clog the entrance line. most people don't check forums like this or ask questions enough to know that you're able to come and go whenever you want. i Dr. Garbanzoure it's best to be on the safe side and make sure you have plenty of supplies anyway, incase they eventually decide to enforce that "rule".
my friend is bringing along a small generator to our premier spot, it's loud as hell but doesn't blow out black smoke or anything. it's mainly to provide electricity to the shower pump inside his trailer so we don't have to wait in the retarded lines.
