Also, what makes you think any of the other illegal food vendors are any more or less sketchy that that particular group of people that you never even saw? You can't ever know what conditions your food is made in when you are in a situation like that. You just go on faith that people usually aren't total dicks.

Believe squatchcreep if you want. He's never seen it happen, and he's been at Sasquatch since it's inception. That means little things like business permits and food handler cards are a non-issue at Sasquatch.

I'm going to start a thread explaining why it's not a good idea to wash down handfuls of painkillers with grain alcohol and watch squatchcreep contradict me over there too.

There goes Gramma, talking out of his horn again.. Smoking a joint around food, that's probably why they had a big problem with it.. Just what I want.. Some little stoner hacking all over my burrito.. Been going to Sasquatch since it's inception & have never heard of Food Vendor's being kicked out completely.. Maybe shut down.. Bootleg T-Shirt vendors don't even get kicked out.. Drug Dealers are the only people I have heard kicked out..

Yeah and then I totally verified it so I guess I am full of shit, too. They weren't serving any food, it was dawn and the whole campground was asleep except for people who had been up all night. Just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

And what's with the hating on pot smokers? What I love about Sasquatch is that everyone might have their own way of having fun/partying but people are respectful of that. No one is forcing you to smoke weed.

Sorry Pinkness, did not say it didn't happen. Just said i've never heard of it.. If I was a food vendor.. I would talk to other food vendors and get a radio system setup.. Get a really good spot & talk to each other.. I would also be a little cautious when selling anything at the gorge.. LiveNation sends people out to check that shit, then they call the proper authority..

Also, was not hating on pot smokers.. I was plainly responding to Gramma's story & what the health department probably saw in that case.. I'm a card holder in this state & proud stoner!

I think ultimately it was Live Nation. I think they had told them before not to sell food, and they saw us there and thought that was as good an excuse as any to be dicks. Before this, at like 5:30 am or earlier, we were standing with some dude on a path with beers, smoking a joint, and this posse of like four LN dudes were there to take away the rest of the joint. It's totally cool that I am drinking beer before the sun is even up, but that roach sure is ruining everyone's time.

Sucks... I guess you know what time they will be out on the prowl.. Not a lot of people out at that time.. Easy for them to make a bust or two..

Don't you wish you would've had your card when that happened? I wonder what they could've done if it was your medicine?

I've been going to Sasquatch for a number of years now. Last year, there was a major increase (or so I perceived) in both licensed and unlicensed food vendors operating out of the camp ground. I know for a fact a few unlicensed sites that were operating too close to the major pathways got shut down. They ultimately just relocated to a more reclusive spot, though.

Anyways, after last year, I have been hoping that there will be more leniency shown towards those trying to set up food stands. Budgeting $10-15 per day to have a hot, prepared meal when I wake up and before bed beats eating out of a cooler by a long shot.

I totally agree! by the last day I'm always just sick of sandwiches and granola bars.

We had a hot dog feast on the last night of camping last year. You're all invited to round two this year. I'll bring some veggie dogs too!

Just bring a camp stove and cook some damn food. If you're hoping for them to be MORE lenient then you're fucking stupid.

Mildly unrelated: Stop by a CostCo and grab a biiiig bag of trail mix. That'll be the best snack you'll munch on all weekend. It will also keep your energy up and it'll keep you from spending wayyy too much money on salmonella-infested chicken fingers inside the fest.
