I love when I can find the exact picture I'm thinking of in my head. Internet!

$4 quesadillas over by the Yeti were a nice find, but there was definitely no cheap beer.

$4 Rolling Rock existed somewhere, but it was almost as elusive as Sasquatch himself.

Speaking of food, this Globe and Mail blurb made me giggle. We're such food snobs in Victoria that our festival's food lineup is almost as hotly anticipated as the music!
"In Victoria this September, the Rifflandia Festival, which is ostensibly built around top bands like The Flaming Lips and Sloan, will also feature a mobile brick pizza oven, a southern barbecue “Pigmobile,” a charcuterie vendor, a Polish delicatessen truck that sells grilled cheese sandwiches stuffed with pierogies and a company that does Central American paletas – frozen, crazy-flavoured fruit pops. The festival is going so far as to announce its food lineup one month ahead of time in a live radio event. “Not only do you know in advance what bands you’re going to see at what time, but you know what food you’re going to be eating,” said Nick Blasko, the festival’s director."

It was only at one of the concession stands, and they sold out at some point. Leave it to Live Nation to promote cheaper beers and have them be severely limited.

I thought the quality inside the venue was slightly improved, and had more options, but HOT DAMN if I didn't eat a shitload of Spicy Pie in the campground. Anyone else get down on some of that stuff?? Just like I remembered it from Coachella. I also ate quite a few campground breakfast burritos as well. Thanks for hooking me up with that first one, Gibbons. I was starving and cashless that first day. |

Campground breakfast burrito was bullshit. It would take at least 5 of them to constitute a meal. The chicken burrito inside, however, was fucking incredible. It tasted exactly like Taco Time, except twice the size. I spent the majority of Jack White's set thinking about it. Now that I think about it (again), that burrito was the Saturday headliner for me, and directly responsible for me not giving a shit about Hotel Yorba.

Haha shit man, I really liked those campground burritos! You're right though, the venue burritos were HUGE, and tasted pretty great as well!

Bone in! Holy crap haha. Who would have guessed that the Gorge makes a better boneless wing than Hooters?? I even got to choose from three delicious sauces (Epic Meal Time voice) to smother them in. |
|
You chose between the sauces? The triple smother was amazing, but I couldn't help regretting my decision not to eat another chicken burrito.

I was in the mood for Frank's Red Hot, but I drenched my fries in the BBQ sauce and it was superb.
I'm hungry.

I just tried Frank's Red Hot for the first time last week. I bought it because the store I was at didn't have Tapatio. It is alright, but it is definitely not as good as Tapatio.

Comparing Frank's to Tapatio isn't fair at all. I won't never put Franks in a burrito, much like I would never EVER cover my chicken wings in Tapatio.
Wow, I just noticed I typed "won't never" before I clicked send, but I'm sticking with it.

I'm not really a hot wing guy, but I definitely see your point there. Frank's definitely tastes like a wing sauce. At least now I know what to use it for now. Mostly, I am just not fond of the vinegary stuff. That is why I don't like Tabasco.

Tabasco is something that I've only recently learned to love. One of my earliest bad memories is sampling some Tabasco from my parents condiment stash and being absolutely traumatized by it. I was never really the biggest wing guy either, but once Buffalo Wild Wings arrived in my area my entire world changed. If I could live off of sushi, wings, and burritos I would be a happy man.
