Yeah, seems like it's always a gamble!
In 2010 we asked if we could pick up extra bracelets and got two or three, but last year when we asked the same request, they begrudgingly handed us one. Sounds like we might be best off bringing two RVs.

It's remarkably quieter than the regular campsite -- I prefer it because I prefer getting a full uninterrupted night's sleep in between active days at the festival. You could always do all of your late night partying in the regular campsite and wander back to premiere when it's time to hit the hay.

That's what my friend is saying. But once Dick Dr. Garbanzo comes out, well let's just say this train haven't any brakes.

We camped in premier in 2010 with 9 people in a huge van with 1 pass and they just asked us how many wristbands we needed upon entry. It is quieter and you can vaguely see the main stage. "Exclusive" honey buckets are always a plus, and I can imagine the shuttle will be extra sweet this year coupled with re-entry benefits (if that actually happens).

We camped premiere in 2010 and 2011. Though it has its pros, the biggest con is the extra expense. If you can shell out the cash, go for it. Truly.
I loved visiting everyone in the trenches. It was kind of fun getting to hang out there, but having the opportunity to bathe in premiere made it worthwhile.
-I certainly appreciate the running water, rather than the foot pumps by the honey buckets -free showers -super top secret access to ACTUAL bathrooms (we didn't discover this until 2011) -more space, though some yellow shirt got douchey last year and made up cramp up next to some teenagers with TERRIBLY cheap smelling pot. -Quiter--if that's your thing. If not, head over to reg. camping. That's what we did! -The shuttle. I LOVED taking this at the end of every day. Call me lazy, but at that point in the day, walking back was way overrated.

Yeah, I don't think I'd ever actually pay for premiere, especially now that camping is included with the 4-day pass. The only reason we used it in 2010 was because we met a guy flying in from Ireland on Craigslist who had already purchased the pass.
These super top secret agent bathrooms you speak of, however, may change my mind. Where are they located?!

I'm not entirely sure how super top secret it actually was, but I felt special for finding and being allowed to use them.
There are a set of men's/women's bathrooms right near where the yellowshirt checks your wristband and makes you throw away your beer. I think its where premiere ends and general area begins. You know, that area where everyone ends up chugging their tall boy around the trash? The toilets are right by there.
Mirrors, running water, flushable toilets, trash cans. Its heaven.

Exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but before camping was included in the ticket, the regular campground was $100/car and fancy pants camping was $160 or something. That seemed pretty reasonable (an extra $15 per person ain't so bad), but now it's $50 per person. I just can't see it being worth that unless you really want quiet time at night.

... and more accessible showers, and cleaner bathrooms, and more camping space, free rides to/from the venue, and fewer teenagers.
If you can afford it and want those sort of things - go for premiere. If you don't, there's always the general camping option.
/debate.

The amount of fun I have in general means I probably wouldn't do premier even if it was free. Just saying its increased a lot in price since regular camping was included and while I have no personal experience it doesn't sound like it has offered anything more in return for the price hike.

I go with a group of 5, so premier camping comes out to only $35/person or so. We have a tent trailer with a large awning, and we set up lawn chairs in between the trailer and the truck. It creates a nice cozy area for us to drink and shoot the shit. I don't think we'd even be able to put out the awning in the general campground because of how stuffed it is over there. They always let us spread out as much as we need to in premier. That alone makes it worth the extra money.
The showers and actually being able to sleep at night are extras. The only bad experience I had in premier is when they made us park right next to the honey buckets. I'm a light sleeper and was kept awake almost all night every night by the honey bucket doors slamming, and then after a day or so the stench was awful.
Edit: I forgot to include that this was in 2009, when it was 90+ degrees every day of the festival, which made the honey buckets smell extra delightful

2010 was the year of the space crunch and depending on when you got to General you had to really Dr. Garbanzoht for space. So we were ready for that last year when we got there. We had seven tents to set up and a canopy and that was just from our car. We were parked next to a van that was our friends' and they had at least two tents. We leaped out of the car like commandos ready to slam some elbows down for space, but we actually had no issue setting up all of our tents, our canopy, and had a nice amount of space. I think the advent of the four day pass and also the fact that you cannot camp without a ticket significantly helped with the space issue. We will have to see how it goes this year but last year was nice.
As for sleeping I was so worn out and drunk by the end of every day it was not an issue. But, to each their own.
