I have a gas fired burner that I can turn up to a nice bon fire. I might have to have that.

Most people definitely do not bring generators. Solar and battery powered lights are common, or you can buy camp lights that run on propane. If you want to bring a gas generator you had better plan a massive party that will drown out the sound of the engine. Be considerate about when you have it running as well, i.e. not late at night (unless aforementioned party is raging) or early in the morning while I'm sleeping off my hangover from your party the night before.

Ya, it died on us last year for sure. We were letting ppl charge cellphones, running a stereo etc. You can recharge it off your cars battery but you need the car to be running to make sure you don't kill the car battery. We bought the biggest one we could get and it made it about 2 days before it was dead. I won't be letting random ppl charge cell phones this year and we should get some extra time out of it. Probably still won't last the whole weekend unless we run the car for a bit.

I have run everything from a noisy generator, an really quiet Honda generator to last year I installed an inverter with additional batteries. Now I can have silent power at night and for breakfast. It works really well. Just if you need a generator, get a Honda Eu1000 or 2000. They are nice and quiet.

Well, it's true that having a propane lantern is more of a fire hazard than not, but as long as you exercise the same degree of caution as you would a camping stove you'll be fine. There's a right way to do it and many wrong ways.
