I've been sitting here at my computer "working" for almost 5 hours. I've worked for 20 minutes, maybe 30 if I'm being generous. This is excruciating. Also, I don't get paid when I don't work. Arrrrrrrg

Tent. Sleeping pad. bag, pillow. Cooler, booze, food. water. ear plugs. wristband. ID. Cash. festival schedule (dont count on being able to find one). towel (take a fucking shower). soap. hand sanitizer. condoms. scissors.
I'd argue that an acceptable level to round up for convenience would be to the next $5, max. But the specifics don't really matter since my point is, most reasonable people can eyeball it and say, "yeah that looks okay" or "no, that doesn't." You choose to see this as cut and dry, black and white. A lot of us don't. Are we all wrong and you and others are right? Or is there a compromise where you accept that your view isn't the same as others and that just because its different doesn't make it wrong?
Or is this not a way that you are capable of operating?
I've made my point clear, several times. I'm done discussing this topic with you.
The grass in the campground never stays damp for long. It's so dry out there for most of the time that the ground just drinks it right up. It rained like a beast for several days before we went to see Phish out there a couple years ago, and the ground was dry as a bone by the time we got there.

Hey,
So pretty similar story to a few on here. I was planning to go with a few mates but they bailed, I wasn't sure if I was going to go but have decided to to go for it but have left everything very last minute. I may have got a ride from Craigslist for early Friday morning but as this is my first music festival I have no idea what to expect!
If anybody wants to meet up or has room in their tent then pm me or something. Are the basics to bring pretty much, Tent, sleeping bag, cooler, food and drink?

Thursday night typically has the largest lines of the weekend, I've waited an average of 2 hours the past three years on Silica Rd. just waiting to get into the campground. Friday morning probably wouldn't be too bad, since people that took Friday off will probably have already arrived, and those working Friday won't be there yet.

I was originally leaving immediately after the Postal Service but now I'm sticking around for Twin Shadow. One last hurrah in the campground seems like the perfect way to close down the festival.
I've explicitly stated I agree with enforcing a "to the penny" rule of face value on the sasquatch message board, but support the notion that, in general, rounding up for convenience is in no way the same as scalping for profit.
What is an acceptable level to round up for convenience? A person here got banned for (probably) rounding up to the next $10, so that should be allowed? What if the ticket cost $12. Rounding it up to $20 is cool? That's the next $10. I'm a high roller, the only bills I deal with are hundos bitches. So $400 is fine? It's just rounding up to the next $100. How much would you round up when selling a sold out ticket to Shax or your mother?
Again you are saying there is an imaginary level that is acceptable. That is why the rules here are cut and dry. Either you are a valued member of this community, or you are trying to make a profit. Either you are defending face, or you aren't, and every member of this community should defend face (and I see what you are doing by now claiming to support both sides, then you can't be wrong, right?).
For the record, I did not ban anyone for "rounding up," nor did I advocate for the ban. I think 90% of the bans here (that I know of) are dumb, including the three times I was banned. Was the person charging up to $40 over face a scalper, I don't think so. Was the person who was banned for asking $400 a scalper? I don't think so. Yet one was defended by several regulars, and everyone celebrated the ban of the other. I don't think either one of them understood they were breaking a rule, and if they get a chance to read my posts defending face, they might understand there is a team of face advocates they might want to be a part of.

I am excited. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon. State Farm was not able to pay for our gas. But thanks to State Farm and Jivenation, two more people from here are going. Hope to meet more of you. If you happen to stumble across a path of red and silver glitter on the ground. Just follow it back to our tent. The wife thinks she is going to be able to see it in the dark with her flash light. I doubt it works but the wife is really excited to try.

Yes, you park next to your campsite.
Getting Thursday night would be ok if you could manage to set stuff up in the relative dark. There's no advantage to getting there earlier besides being there earlier and spending more time there. That's a pretty big advantage though. Line ups on friday morning are not a big deal. The big lines are caused by people getting off work on friday and then driving there, making the lines huge around dinnertime to 11pm.

Last year I was totally shut down by my allergies for an entire day and also got sick for Monday. Still had a blast. Just because your head feels like it's going to burst doesn't mean you can't have a good time!
Arriving late for premier camping « Result #33 Today at 2:12pm »
Hi Guys, I'm planning to arrive to premier camping Thursday night or possibly Friday morning around 10-11ish. If I did arrive on Friday would it be a bad idea for line-ups, spot selection etc? I'm only worried about arriving Thursday night because it will suck to set up tents in the dark...
Also, in premier do you park your car next to your tent? I'm thinking for tarp set up, storage etc.
I've been searching the posts and can't find the answer to this specific to premier camping.
But if you're worried about the weather, then you picked the wrong place to stay.
I absolutely loved that part of LCD's song back in 2010 because if I remember right it was kind of a gloomy day and was threatening to rain. I recall the crowd cheering at those lyrics.
Speaking of that jaggedy wood fence, my friend works for a company that designs the red bull booth and takes the pictures and all that. Apparently at the part after you make it back up the hill, you don't have to cross the road anymore, or wait for cars to go by. They dug a tunnel that goes under the road that you walk on.
Pointless information! I'm too excited for Sasquatch to not blabber on about things.
Haha that's awesome, I may have to skip out on the premier shuttle one of the mornings just to check that out.

Every day the forecast improves a little. Aside from cold nights (I fully intend on forcing my way into others' tents to cuddle to stay warm), I'm thinking the weather might end up being near perfect.
I'm defending the notion that $2 is not the same as $20 or $200. Your inability to comprehend this has become boring.
You're defending the notion that an undefined markup is acceptable on the Sasquatch Message Board. I'm defending face. Your inability to comprehend this hasn't become boring, it's become comical.

Do you understand my stance at all, or do I need to write an essay for you? I thought you were smarter than this, wonk.

Now that's why I'm happy I bought a premier pass and have access to a shuttle so I can get back to the campground faster. Gonna miss all of Youngblood Hawke though since Primus is on Sunday night from midnight to 1:30. It'll be a pretty cool last party on Monday night with Twin Shadow. This is awesome.

I dont know why you are so adamant to want to twist my words and create an argument. I can't even argue the side of the argument that you believe I am on because I am not on it at all. Why look for a Dr. Garbanzoht that's not even there? Are you that bored? Get a hobby. This is getting sad.

Wow that is fucking awesome. I'm happy that I'll get to see Four Color Zack, he's an awesome turntablist and puts on a fun party vibe. And Twin Shadow DJ set? I'm a guy and I will straight up swoon.

The grass may be a little damp still on Friday, but there's no more than a 10% chance of rain the whole weekend with highs in the 70s each day. Doesn't get much better than that.

There are no camping searches. You will not be searched at the campground. Entering the festival, you will be searched. Be prepared to be searched daily when you enter the festival.

The Primus poster is the one I'm looking forward to most. Sometimes if posters aren't displayed on sasquatchfestival.com you can google for them and I've found a few that way over the years, but it turns up nothing in this case.

RedBull Seattle recently tweeted that Four Color Zack is DJing Thursday night from 11-2am, Nacho Picasso (Live) Friday from 12:15-2am, Youngblood Hawke (DJ set) Sunday from 1230-2am and Twin Shadow (DJ Set) Monday from 1130-2am. All taking place at the Red Bull MTX truck.
I learned how to drive manual when I was 16! Manual drivers, unite!
Same! I mean, I wouldn't brag about my manual driving skills back then, and the number of times I stalled on major roadways is astounding (even for a 16 year old girl). But it comes with practice. Never going back.
Also noteworthy, though... even at concerts in Calgary where there has been tremendous scalping ($20 tickets being sold for $200+), I've managed to find them at face. Where there's a will....
After spending the better part of two days defending price markups, you brag about finding people who are awesome enough to hook you up for face? Do you then laugh at them for not charging you an extra $10? That is the entire reason we don't allow scalping here. We are those awesome people looking to hook you up for face.

The downside of having an awesome Sasquatch travel buddy who doesn't have her license and doesn't know how to drive stick. She is excellent company though. Last year my Sasquatch playlist got into a Bon Iver rut and I was looking fall asleep at the wheel-y, she immediately put on some loud metal to wake me the fuck up.

Me and megatron can trade off (whereas in the past I've driven the whole way which is pretty exhausting), so it shouldn't be too bad. She's (hopefully) sleeping in today, so she should be okay. But yes - both of us are ready and willing to pull over and nap when and where ever is required. Safety first. EVERYONE TRAVEL SAFE.

Sounds good! We'll be leaving ahead of you so I'll let you know where we end up crashing (hopefully not in the literal sense, I hate driving through the mountains in the rain)
