Cgy to Sasq - Best Border?
« Thread Started on Feb 29, 2012, 5:17pm »

I searched. Nothing came up.

So whats the best border to cross coming into the US for sasq?

Whichever one I took on the way home last year was a 2h wait... of course I was too hung over to make note of what route I took...

So...suggestions?

We are planning on heading through the crows nest pass and crossing at Eastport. I have heard on this board that Coutts is a pain, but I had no problems when I went to Coachella last year.

Start off by stating I'm an American.

I crossed back into the states at Roosville and it was a breeze. I entered at Baab which was a bit more complicated but that's because I was entering and not returning. Bonus about crossing at Roosville is that you get to drive through Montana along Lake Koocanusa and through the Yaak (NW Montana). I think timing wise it's about the same as heading through Eastport.

take hwy 3A thru the kootenays to osoyoos, then straight south through Wenatchee...theres rarely a wait at the Osoyoos crossing....

I also go through the crow's nest and down through King's Gate. Most because we leave at night and need a 24 hour crossing.

In terms of minimizing driving time, Eastport, ID might be your best bet. That border is also open 24 hours, but beware that it's currently under construction so it can be a bit slow at times.

That said, my crossing was hassle-free despite having two tubs of homemade brownies and 1000 glow sticks in the trunk of the car (which they definitely saw). The brownies were legit, but in hindsight, that was an extremely stupid idea so I'm glad they didn't hassle me.

I wish we had a Canadian Flag icon we could attach to certain threads like this so that I know to not even bother reading it

A better indicator might actually be the percentages of Pea's posts in a certain thread. Anything with a high percentage is obviously Canadian bullshit.

Luckily, most of the Americans I met at sasq last year seemed to be a lot cooler than this one.

I don't hate Canada. Some of my best friends are Canadian. That's not true actually.

I wasn't picking on Canada, I was just saying that sometimes there are threads about Canadian issues that I just cannot participate in, just like I don't participate in the girly thread. Doesn't mean I hate girls.

Misunderstanding, hugs and kisses - but word of advice, chip-on-my-shoulder Canadians are the only Canadians worth giving shit to anyway, so I wouldn't be too touchy.
