5-6 HOURS? It takes us 6-7 from Vancouver... unless the I-90 is ridiculous, which it has been in the past.

From downtown Seattle, including the stop at Safeway, I'm pretty sure it was 3.5 hours for me. I remember waking up at 8am with a 5-alarm hangover and I'm pretty sure I got to the gorge slightly after noon. 8:30 is the earliest I could have left.

Good job dude, I could never get out that early. Afternoon I-90 is the fucking worst.

Why not just take the shuttle offered?

Well the plan was to have wheels rolling by 8:00am on Friday. Then for some reason I thought I should hit a couple of brew pubs then a bar or two on Thursday afternoon / evening (I was on vacation in Seattle for the 6 days prior to the festival). To this day, I still wonder whatever possessed me to do that, given that I had 4 days of Sasquatch! ahead and should have been resting up. Oh well. Still had a blast.

Shuttle is a great idea, but probably there's no option for a grocery / target / etc. run if you do.

If I were me, it would boil down to how many people I was splitting a car rental with, and balancing that vs. cost of the shuttle.

One reason I'm against flying or taking a shuttle or anything is I'd have nowhere to put my stuff. I relied on my car pretty heavily to store stuff last year. I didn't have anything too expensive, but I wouldn't want to leave my passport and stuff in my tent.

Seattle brews will have that kind of influence on a man.

Exactly! I hit Pike around 2:00pm, then Elysian afterwards, then some other establishments on Capitol Hill afterwards.
