UO student seeking ride from Eugene, Portland
« Thread Started on Apr 25, 2011, 10:08pm »

I am Mickey, a 22 year old Univesity of Oregon Student who's ride to Sasquatch just dropped on me. Will take a bus to most convenient location for you (Portland, Albany, Corvallis, Salem, ect.) and compensate generously. I am a chill dude with a ticket for all four days, and feeling pretty desperate.

My friend and I are flying up to Portland and thinking about renting a car there. If we do that, we'll need 3 other people to fill it up and split the cost. I can't give you a for sure answer just yet since we're trying to Dr. Garbanzoure out if we can just get a ride with someone as well but if that's the route we're going we could definitely help you out.

We're in the same situation so we definitely understand.

Hey man. I live in Salem, and have a four seater. I guess five if nobody wants to bring any stuff. Gladly bring you along if you want to split gas.

I would certainly make it to Salem to come down with you assuming I don't find a ride directly out of Eugene within the next week.

QUICK CHANGE!

How do you like UO? I'm attending next year as a freshman and I'm pretty stoked.

Not that you asked me, but..

I'll be graduating from UO this Spring and I LOVE it. As long as you can handle the almost endless months of rain, I don't see why anyone would feel differently. Eugene is a pretty good representation of the PNW, imo. Do you know what your major will be? I could give more specific advice about the school I got my degree from, but it's pretty small.

And bc I feel guilty ignoring the OP... I'll either be going up to Sasquatch with a friend in Portland on Thursday (in which case I don't think it's really in my place to offer a ride) or I'll be leaving after a lab on Friday (noon) and meeting my friends at the fest. In the case of the belt sander, you probably don't want to wait until 7 on Friday to get there- I know I don't.

Cliff's Notes Version: In Eugene, have car, will drive in exchange for gas funds and logistics consultancy.

Lengthier Version:Under recommendation (read: serious pressure) from my friends, I bought a Sasquatch pass three months ago. At that point there were about eight of us going. The intervening months have read like an Agatha Christie novel, with family issues, a breakup, and general life drama claiming the plans of the would be Sasquatch goers.

I'm the last potential member of the original group. The last hope, if you will. Because if I don't make it... then there were none.

Anyway, I still have a ticket and would prefer to transcend the domino effect that's caused my other friends to revert on going this year. I have transportation and the resources, intellect, and biting wit necessary to make it a solo op, but I'd prefer not to go alone because 1. Going alone would be lame and 2. I haven't been, and it could be useful to interrogate a Sasquatch demographer en route. Also, interrogations make for less soul-crushingly boring roadtrips.

So: if you need a ride, and you're willing to advise and/or help out with the camping situation, get in touch. If you need a ride and you're willing to pitch in for petrol, get in touch. If you have a winning personality and you can charm your way into people's hearts everywhere you go: you're a psychopath. But you're welcome to come. Get in touch.

Jesus Christ. This is a strong contender for my favorite first post ever.

I wish you the best of luck!

For reals. If I didn't already have a ride I'd have gone with you but alas.

When you do get people to go with you, and I have faith that you will, you should stick around the boards. I like you already.
