Annabee if someone tries to sell you a ticket for more than face value, please say something so I can ban them.

Glad you found tickets. I put mine on craigslist when you didn't respond to my PM, and the buyers were extremely happy they were able to purchase them way below face value. They were fans of the Sasquatch Blog as well (or at least they said their friends were fans), so they can rest easy their tickets are legit.

Well, whatever. I was going to question why you would sell them "way below face value" when the festival is sold out and you can probably get face for them pretty easily, but it's not worth it. Maybe you did, maybe you didn't.

Nah, you can't get face value anymore. The festival is "barely" sold out, meaning more people are looking to sell than there are buyers. It's easy to sell face value tickets at the show the day off, but Sasquatch involves weeks of planning, so you're lucky to find someone willing to pay close to face when you live several hours away.

I bought three extras when the lineup was announced, and it took forever to sell out, and no one I knew needed a ticket (either in real life or on the board). So I cut my losses. I offered the OP a deal, explained how I was legit, and she went with someone else without replying to me. Ticket buyers can be cool, but many of them are scum.

To the OPs defense, I logged in to tell her I sold the passes I offered her, and she had just PM'd me saying she bought other passes. It was probably a local buy, so much more convenient for her. But I still had to wait three days to see if she wanted to purchase my passes, and when you get four people doing that back to back this close to the festival, you are stuck with a $600 loss for trying to be nice.

That pretty much sucks. I actually debated buying a ticket at the lineup announcement on the off chance I could go, thinking I'd be able to sell it at close to face worst case. I suppose I'm glad I didn't because there's no way I can attend this year. I guess that's a chance you take. Good on ya for selling your tickets to someone despite the loss though. The more at Sasquatch the merrier.

I know some of your pain, I'm busy selling household goods before I move, and some stuff I'm giving away I wish I had been able to get even $50 for. Cheaper to give this stuff away than pay to move it though...

I put them on Craigslist a week ago for face, and only got one reply. I responded an hour later, and he had already bought them from someone else. It's a buyers market right now, which is somewhat confusing due to the strength of the lineup.

I do this every year, but this year, no one I knew needed a pass, so I sold my extras for $250 each. I was as happy to gain $500 as they were to save $130, and it was a local sell so I didn't have to pay for shipping or deal with Paypal (I'm still not sure how that works). Win win, lesson learned, and I won't be buying extras next year.

Fly May 21 to go house hunting. Actual move day is May 30, will be back for about 2 days in between.

I've had a general policy of buying 2 tickets to everything I go to, knowing I can almost certainly sell the extra to a friend for face value. I rarely do this for festivals, and this is a definite cautionary tale.
