 Ticket Insurance
« Thread Started on May 4, 2012, 7:10pm »

I bought a Sasquatch ticket and the insurance for it and I'm not going to be able to attend. So I was wondering how I would use the insurance to get my money back. The website dosen't give info on it. At least none that I could find

So does this mean there is going to be 1 ticket available through ticketmaster when this guy calls?

I'm not really sure that's how ticket insurance works.

It seemed pretty inclusive with illness, emergencies and whatnot. It's worth a try anyway!

The idea of you essentially being on a stake-out of ticketmaster, furiously refreshing the screen hoping that someone calls in to use ticket insurance is amusing.

I gave it a quick read the first time I saw that and it basically seemed like anything worked. They aren't going to check if you really got sick or whatever, so you can just say you can't make it and get a refund. Obviously they would de-activate your ticket, and I would guess that they would try to re-sell it.

I don't need one, I just wonder what would happen if ticketmaster showed a ticket for sale to a 'sold out' fest. Maybe this is why they released extra tickets in previous years?

I assume ticketmaster would 'buy back' the ticket minus the service charges, which would enable them to resell it via stubhub or whatever backhanded con website they've got going these days.
