A quick message to the people coming to this board looking for tickets to the now sold out Sasquatch! 2011 Festival:

I know you are frantic to get tickets to the fest. Of course you are - it's fuckin' Sasquatch, and it is going to be awesome. It is of course irritating as fuck to know that tickets would still be available if they hadn't been hoarded by shit-sucking scalpers.

Listen to the voice of experience on this matter: JUST WAIT A COUPLE WEEKS. The majority of people selling tickets at the moment (2/16/11) are scalpers, even if they claim not to be. If you are buying tickets for more than $50 above face, you are buying tickets from a scalper.

If you wait until mid-April or even early May, you will find that Craigslist will have an ample amount of passes for sale from regular people who are no longer able to attend. I know until then you'll be pulling your hair out worrying about 'Will I be able to go?', but when you find someone who is willing to sell you a ticket for what you WOULD have paid for it if it wasn't sold out, it wil be worth it. It will be a search, and it will be a race to beat other people wanting to buy tickets closer to face value, and it will be a huge hassle, but it WON'T BE WORSE THAN PAYING $500 and it WON'T BE WORSE THAN PERPETUATING THE SCALPING TRADE.

Be patient and be diligent and you will be able to find tickets at a reasonable price. Good luck; see you at the Gorge.

Before this comment and James Murphy's rant in regards to hatin' on the scalpers for LCD's show, I really was unaware of how freaking sneaky and deceitful people can be when it comes to ticket demands.

I think places like StubHub need to be regulated with caps on ticket prices or something.

StubHub needs to be shut down and scalping needs to be legislated. It is a travesty that TicketMaster can run it's own scalping site, I have no idea how they are able to get away with that.

The TicketBastard "auction" system is like getting mugged at gun-point and then getting beaten by the police when you report the crime. I'm sure that this is the evil multinational corporation referenced in "The Omen."

Here's where it gets fun, though: Ticketmaster also owns Ticketweb (a supposedly "indie" ticketing company). Couple this with the new "auction" feature and LiveNation begins to look like Mother Teresa. The auction is neat because now, TicketMaster doesn't even have to put their good seats up for sale during the onsale. They just let people bid on the seats that used to be available for all. Thus, a ticket with a face value of $60 goes for $300 instantly, especially since people get locked into that old auction-mentality. What a wonderful world, eh?

I still firmly believe that TicketBastard and LiveNation have been in cahoots for years. I remember how much fun it used to be to wait outside a box office overnight to get first shot at tickets that next 10AM. Nowadays, if they even still allowed people to line up (don't think they do), only the first four or five would even have half a shot at it. Between that and Interwebs only sales, concert-going just isn't quite what it used to be.
