The new Peter Bjorn and John album is going to surprise people. It's actually good!

"Post-dubstep"? God damn it. Hyphenated genre classifications are strictly for the douchiest of hipsters. Please don't ever say 'post-dubstep' again.

I agree that post-dubstep is a fucking ridiculous name but dubstep is awful and James Blake and Burial are great...

having just given it a listen... i think it's safe to say we can remove the new Cold War Kids album from the 'Albums to look forward to' category --- it's pretty uninspiring.

I haven't been anticipating it. I don't like barely-masked Christian rock

I think the first song is incredible, and then a little while later I'm listening to "Big Burned Hand" which straight up sounds like Sam Beam found a funky 80's pop hit he loved and dubbed his vocals over it.

The last 4 minutes of "Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me" make me want to pull my eyeballs out of my head. Seriously the most annoying thing Sam Beam has ever done. Overall I think the album is decent. About half really great tracks and half WTF tracks. Slight step down from The Shepherd's Dog, imo.

Why I love this album is because Sam Beam takes all these crazy influences, and makes every song sound like a gospel song, one way or another. I also just love his voice and his writing.

And I bet "Your Fake Name" is sweet live. I love songs that disintegrate into madness like that.

PS If Iron and Wine is at Sasquatch, and if they play The Trapeze Swinger, I'll lose my mind.
