Musically, it was amazing. But it came at the cost of having no common musical ground with anyone in high school whatsoever. Everybody was listening to Zep, outside of the bizarro punker kids (who subsequently became my closest friends). I ended up heavy into Crass, Buzzcocks, X-Ray Spex, Propagandhi and the like for a good year because literally everybody else was listening to classic rock and had no interest in learning about why Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon were the greatest rock couple ever.
