He actually retired the cube. He only used it for the Lolla show because the weather conditions prevented him from using his entire new setup. I can't fucking WAIT to see what the full display looks like.

Upon seeing this last night, I immediately bit the bullet and bought scalped tickets for the Vancouver show this Friday. This isn't even his entire new setup since he had to bail on some of the visual equipment due to weather issues. Say what you want about the mau5, but his live show is the best in the business at this point. Can't fucking wait!!!

I'm thinking so. It makes perfect sense to have that giant thing close out the mainstage like Tiesto and the Chems have done the past two years. If Daft Punk are going to continue to be unbookable little assholes then I say bring in the mau5 to melt our late night faces.

I agree, he is probably the most likely mainstage electro act if they don't get Daft Punk. I would be quite alright with it, that new set up looks ridiculous.

With Lolla putting a damper on the debut, that means his Thursday show will be one to work out all of the kinks...hopefully making the Friday show the best opportunity to catch it at it's earliest prime. Holy balls I'm excited.

Barry Manilow. I would watch Barry Manilow once a weekend if I could; it is FREE (for me) afterall. What is the fucking big deal? I have seen everyone that you great gig-goers that are 'too good' to see a Hall-of-Famer like Manilow have seen (and then some).

On Deadmouse. It would be a significant step down for Goldenvoice to close out the mainstage after the real headliner with that hack. From Tiesto to Chemical Brothers to Deadmouse? What is next: Skrillex? Maybe that guy from Jersey Shore. Give me a fucking break. The difference between Tiesto and DM is that Tiesto can be seen for 100$+, DM .... you guess. Tiesto hardly plays festivals in the U.S.; DM can be seen at everything, everywhere. I have seen (and walked away) the hack at (Cypress Hill's) Smokeout. Smokeout! The guy sucks and would be a definite downgrade. GV pays Daft Punk whatever it is that they require to be paid and that is final.

Fucking Deadmouse. Ridiculous*.

E

*In regards to the mainstage closing; if you love the guy and are paying hard-earned money to see him spin live, all the power to you. No criticism of that. He is playing two ticketed nights at the Boulevard Pool; fly in for it. He has mini-residencies all the time here as well. See him for free.
