 Guys wanna see something cool?

My old girlfriend was a girl named Steph, who when we were together was the touring flautist for Beulah. She lived in Philadelphia at the time and worked at one of the clubs there so she was pretty plugged into the music scene.

In 2001, Circulatory System was touring in support of their first record and Jeff Mangum was on the road with them playing drums. He stayed at Steph's house when he was in Philly, and so I managed to get this:

That is my very first copy of 'Aeroplane'. I asked her to have him sign it for me, but he curiously refused and I got this instead. I REALLY can't complain.

sans the added artwork to that particular disc, that graphic will most likely be my next tattoo.

Another ex of mine has the flying gramophone on her right forearm. It looks great.

That drawing was done by a Mr. Brian Dewan, who also built the strange shrine-like structure from the cover of They Might Be Giants' 'Lincoln' album.

Here's another one:

Yoshimi tour, circa 2002. I went with a bunch of message board people (lifer, embarrassing, I know, shut up) to the Lips show at the Warfield in San Francisco. None of us had tickets, but we spent the whole afternoon sitting outside the stage door blowing up balloons and writing non sequiturs on paper hearts to shower the audience with. Right before showtime, Wayne came and let us in through the back and gave us backstage passes so we could come back and say hello after the set.

Just about everyone has story about meeting Wayne; he really is as nice and genuine as he seems. He came skipping backstage in his white suit and covered in fake blood, gave everyone hugs and signed this 7" of 'Do You Realize??' for me. It's a nice looking thing, I think.

The board is slow today, so here's another:

'Aldhils Arboretum' tour, circa 2001. of Montreal played at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, which is basically a converted group of utility sheds at the end of a dark alley. The full line-up at the time signed my 'Coquelicot' LP for me, you can see a 'Hello From Kevin Barnes' up in the left hand corner.

Also pictured is proof that there once existed a different of Montreal than the miserably oversexed monstrosity we have now: a hand-written setlist featuring songs from 'Cherry Peel', 'The Bedside Drama', 'Coquelicot', and upon my request 'My Favorite Boxer' from 'The Gay Parade'. [edit: you can see "Isn't it Nice" scratched out with blue pen; outside of the frame they have written in 'Fav Box' instead]

The band stayed at my girlfriend's apartment that night so they didn't have to sleep in their van.

Yr killing me.

I would kill to see pre-Sunlandic of Montreal. Unfortunately that's the soonest I could see a show of theirs being in the desolate land of upstate South Carolina. Then when I moved to Charleston, I found out my friend booked house shows they played all the time back in the day.

I just realized how crazy it is considering this entire thread that no one has asked anyone how much their dick gets sucked.
