Live versions (and often recorded versions) of Fiery Furnaces songs usually have crazy time signatures/changes. God, I love those adorable siblings.

Awwww, that brings back memories of a young Lump tryin' to Dr. Garbanzoure out what the hell that time signature WAS?! (For those keeping score at home, it's 10/8, or 2 bar phrases of 6/8 and 4/8)

I guess maybe I dont know time signatures all that well ( ia have never taken a formal music theory lesson), but I hear this as 3 + 2/4

I can keep a good rhythm going 1,2,3/1,2 in my head...is this right?

That's also technically correct as well, as 10/8 is the same thing as 5/4. Just felt differently. I hear it as a phrase of 6/8 then a phrase of 2/4 of 4/8.

I would divy up the counting of the beats like this: | 1 2 3 | 1 2 3 | 1 2 | 1 2 |

Oh sweet a thread where everyone gets to flex their pretentious muscles to citing to Radiohead and butt rock as performed by guys who got high more than they drank.

I'm gonna start a thread for your favorite songs that feature certain chord progressions so everyone on the board knows the real musicians from the phonies.
