Arcade Fire rocked Seattle so fucking hard that the Space Needle fell over. True statement.
God that was a fun show!

That was indeed a pretty awesome show they put on. I was embarrassed at the attendance though. After hearing they sold out madison square garden and had like 17k people in Vancouver the night before, I didn't expect to see the entire upper level and a portion of the lower level of Key Arena blocked off. Also their set was a bit short considering they have three records packed with hit songs. They could have gone at least another half hour.

17k in Vancouver?? I wonder if they just have a bigger fan base in Canada or something. I wasn't too shocked by the attendance, there were probably a solid 8k there. It did look pretty weak though with all of the arena blocked out.

I was at the Vancouver show. I'm came straight from class and missed Calexico, but apparently their sound was awful (while some consider the Coliseum the best for stadium shows in Vancouver over BC place/Rogers arena, it's still not very good), though It sounded fine for AF. I checked some setlists and we're the only show that didn't get Ocean of Noise with Calexico (we got Suburban War instead). I wonder if Calexico got super pissed during their set because of lousy sound. Was anyone else at the Vancouver show? How was Ocean of Noise for those that saw it? I think I prefer Suburban War as a song but that would've been cool to see.
Arcade Fire were awesome, but a two song encore? No My Body is a Cage? C'monnnnnnnn

yep, which could either back up my reasoning or have nothing to do with it at all haha. not sure which...
my only complaint about the setlist was no Une Annee Sans Lumiere. other than that i was mighty happy with the song choices and even though they didnt play suuuper long i was still happy with it.

Re: Portland Show
I expected to hear Black Mirror, so that was my only omission surprise. I would have liked to see Empty Room. Overall, I think 18 songs is about right. I would have left disappointed if they played less than 15, and would've been surprised if they played over 20.

This was the one surprise inclusion. It was one of the top five highlights. I've had the end of that song stuck in my head all day.

Ocean of Noise was incredible with the Calexico boys up there.

I'm a bit curious if there are arenas that have great sound? I'm just speaking my mind here, but I would think arenas in general are designed to amplify noise; the home field/court advantage.
Do head coaches ever think to themselves, "I appreciate the sound quality at this establishment. The acoustics here really emphasize the voice of the guy in the upper deck screaming profanities about my mother."

I agree, though i think they must do something to the arena(s) to make it sound better. The sound for Arcade Fire was actually pretty good, even better some club shows i thought, and sounded nothing like at a hockey game or whatever. I wonder if newer stadiums/arenas are built with some sort of built in retractable or removable equipment that help with acoustics?
It's obvious i know nothing about the workings of stadiums.

I thought they sounded great at Key Arena. I really don't understand why people bitch so much about that place. The sound is better at other venues like the Paramount, but there's no way in hell the Paramount's stage is big enough for those huge video screens, nor is the venue's capacity. The only other venue that would be somewhat suitable for the crowds they draw is Wamu Theater, which arguably has the worst acoustics in town.

holy crap, check this Broken Social Scene set that Ann Arbor, MI got the other night: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/broken-soc....i-6bd53ade.html Are they touring with emily haines or is lisa lobsinger covering for her on anthems for a seventeen year old girl? When I see them the 15th my mind will be blown if they open with Pacific Theme and close with Ibi.

It was Lisa singing Anthems. I've seen Amy sing it as well. I wouldn't doubt Emily occasionally joins them to sing it, since Broken Social Scene regularly grabs anyone who happens to be in town to guest.
Agreed, great setlist. I'd like to see It's All Gonna Break again, but it has everything else. Ibi would be a fun closer instead.
