Theres a lil pizza place in ChiTown, I think its just south of Wrigleyville, called Pequods. Their lunch special when I was there was a beer and a personal-size deepdish for $5! Check it out if you can!

Sweet! Thanks, Dr. Garbanzo.

And thanks to Lump for the hotel suggestion. I don't care about staying too close to the festival itself, but an hour each way on a train does not sound like something me and my girlfriend will be up for. I'll definitely look beyond the area where Grant Park is (I don't know the city layout at all) and will consider proximity to trains/transit. I'd like to stay in a neighborhood that at least has some cool bars for post-festival merrymaking.

My favorite part of my visit to Chicago (which, funnily enough, took the place of my going to Sasquatch last year) actually was riding the trains. You see some crazy stuff on there, and being from the Baltimore area originally, it sort of made me feel like I was right back at home.

Chicago is definitely an awesome city, and although I had to miss one of the best Squatch lineups ever to go there, it was worth it.

I think this is why the hour ride was was cool with me.

And I think the train ride would be much shorter for you since you're going to Grant Park and not Union Park. Grant Park is right next to the main hub where most of the lines meet, so I actually had to pass through that hub to get to where I was going.

That's true. I just looked up some maps to get a feel for the city and the transit system and it looks like there won't be any problems getting to and from the festival grounds. And I have no problem taking the L, it's just that 2 hours a day spent commuting is too much for us. I do love rapid transit, though. During my trips to NYC I always buy unlimited use fare cards, and here in Vancouver I take the SkyTrain as much as possible. If we end up staying outside the downtown core it will definitely be near an L station on a line that runs all night.

So, as I feared when I bought the tickets months ago, it looks like I won't be able to attend Lolla this year due to visa issues. Boo! If any of you need tickets, or know someone else that does, I'm selling a pair at face value ($215 x 2 = $430.) It looks like only day passes ($90 each) are available on their site now. Gutted that I can't go, but hopefully someone can take advantage! PM me if you're interested and we'll talk details.
