Sounds like ten songs in one. It's growing on me already.

yeah exactly the same for me. I didn't really understand what was going on at first.
Apparently the title track 'Congratulations' was leaked too, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where to find the non-live version?

The new songs definitely sound Bowie-esque. They said their sound was going to be more Kinks and Low era Bowie. They sure weren't lying.

miked- I found it on hypemachine yesterday. I can't find it today.

They sound like unpolished Of Montreal songs. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but thats the first impression that I had from listening a couple of times.

i love the psychedelic tendencies of the song and definitely would be happy if the rest of the album sounds like this, but i would love another pop single with the power "time to pretend" had.

at this point in their career that's just fucking stupid to not play kids. i understand bands that have been around forever leaving certain hits out of their setlist, but for christ's sake, mgmt have put out ONE album and they're already not playing the biggest single they ever put out?

I've seen some videos of them playing Kids live. Ben and Andrew just stand up front and sing while a backing track plays, but i guess it doesn't matter because the crowd is usually really into that song. I just hope they play it at Sasquatch. I wouldn't be crushed if they didn't, but I know the the thousands of girls at the show will be, if they left out any of their hits for that matter.

Just finished listening to the new album, thinking it might be better than the last one...it's not (my opinion). I have tried and tried and just can't put my finger on why I dislike them so much, but I do. Oh well! Time to Pretend is still catchy as hell though!

new album might be my favorite of 2010. will be hilarious to see how many of their "top 40" type fans will abandon them after the album drops.

I wouldn't really say that MGMT are "Top 40". Just because they scored big with one song doesn't make them a Top 40 band. I would have to say that they just got lucky last year with the hype machine, and for the record I'm not saying they are a one hit wonder!
