I gotta say, wow - they really suck!

After seeing them at Sasquatch I honestly question how they are popular (live at least).

Completely inane bullshit - three boring guys pressing random shit on keyboards and no melody or anything remotely catchy or good, and every instrument (including the vocals) run through the same tape delay to give it some kind of rhythm over a drum kit / bass hit. Definitely the worst show of the entire festival for me. I suppose if I did a lot of drugs it may have been more enjoyable, but it reminded me of boring live PA sets by people who think every sound they make is the best thing ever.

I cannot agree with you more nor have said it better myself. They were complete and total bullshit. I had to walk away until they were completely done. In Hell, this should be the house band. I would rather shit hot knives and bludgeon my ears and eyes with icepicks than go through that goddamn nightmare again.

Seriously? Its one thing to come to a conclusion about a band, but to act as if they somehow were putting you down when all the fuck youve gotta do is stand up and walk to your choice of three other stages. Cry cry, what a difficult life youve got. Art is what it is. Whether or not theres any conformed structure to it. Get a grip and relax.

Wow. You sure took that one personally. I was just getting a rise out of people with shitty taste in music. Looks like my mission is accomplished.

I loved their set. I really like them and I thought live was a lot different from their recordings in a really fascinating way. I get why people hated it though. I saw them randomly before I was a fan and hated it so much I left. This time was so great and I think it was just due to the appreciation I already had for what they were doing. Awesome live act for fans but completely inaccessible for a first exposure or for someone who isn't into them.

I personally think they are fantastic studio artists... but the live show... it's kind of letting the music down..

I really like there live sets. they dont have a predetermined set, just an idea, and sort of let it flow, I find that to be fun!

shitty taste is in the eye of the beholder. fuck some people like tpain and 50 cent. some people listen to owl city and think they're hip. for 'my' taste the more abstract and confusing the better.

Yes FD. Those are Animal Collective lyrics. Very good. Very impressive. Actually, what is very impressive is that I had the brain power last night to be aware this thread existed and somehow found it! Where is my trophy for this???

This guy should really think his plan through. I reckon bludgeoning your ears and eyes with icepicks would only send you front row to the permanent AC show...wait a minute...he's giving me ideas.
