How come we go to the same shows but like none of the same albums?
I blame technology.

It is just crazy how many good albums came out. I like a lot of the albums on your list it is just a matter of where we placed them. If it was a list of 30, 40, 50 we would have some commons.
The shows that we had in common were radical though. Black Dice was up there in my favorites. I just listened to the albums on my list more than that Mr. Impossible.
PS still trying to come next Saturday. Gotta shake this cold and Dr. Garbanzoure out my schedule. Did you see that Black Breath is opening for them???? Shit yes.

Waited 'til the last minute 'cause I was hoping to get a chance to listen to a few more new releases from this year but never did. Probably one of the few year's where I've listened to least amount of brand new music, but what I did hear was all really good this year.
Oh and I actually took the plunge and tried to number my top ten. The others are honourable mentions, I guess.
1. Grizzly Bear - Shields 2. Twin Shadow - Confess 3. Electric Guest - Mondo 4. Hot Chip - In Our Heads 5. Albama Shakes - Boys + Girls 6. Yeasayer - Fragrant World 7. Jack White - Blunderbuss 8. Divine Fits - A Thing Called Divine Fits 9. Gary Clark Jr - Blak & Blu 10. David Byrne & St Vincent - Love This Giant
Daughn Gibson - All Hell Alt-J - An Awesome Wave Grimes - Visions Passion Pit - Gossamer The Temper Trap - s/t Two Door Cinema Club - Beacon

I can't believe some people liked that Yeasayer album. I can't even bring myself to listen to it again. I think it gave me diarrhea.

I totally loved Fragrant World the first time I heard it, although admittedly the first time I heard it I was breathin' the sugar of the dragon. Every time I've listened to it since then, it's just made me want to listen to Odd Blood, which is just... weird.

Did I miss a favorite songs thread this (past) year? I'm late to everything recently, because I haven't been able to listen to music at work. Aside from me being addicted to the new GYBE album, and thinking the stupidest album title of all time was actually really good (Put Your Back N 2 It), I've been digging on Father John Misty's album.
He's got that smooth jazzy soft rock sound of the early 80s going on, more specifically, Hall and Oates. They were my Steely Dan, who would have been my Hall and Oates if I was six years older.
My favorite song is "Nancy From Now On" which is obviously not on par with Hall and Oats lyrically, but it is the same sound. It's like a combination of "Sara Smile" and "I Can't Go For That." It's probably my second favorite song of the year, behind "Five Seconds."
He's also J. Tillman and the former drummer for the Fleet Foxes, if you don't know, and you need a reason to hipster hate him.

I meant to post the favorite songs thread a while ago. I made my list up to like 80 songs, then quit. Maybe this weekend.
