Holy shit, just scrolling down that list from NPR makes me realize how many albums that I haven't had a chance to even hear yet. Do people throw December onto the following year with these lists or is it a forgotten month?

It is a forgotten month. The music industry in general starts shutting down mid December for the holidays, so the news, tour announcements, and album releases are minimal.

Yeah, wow, I've listened to 5 albums off of NPR's list, and 10 from Spin's. And somehow I still ended up with 94 albums in my ichunes "2012" folder.

Eh, probably. My tastes work out pretty well every year for Sasquatch, though.

My friends from high school have a really awesome band that was on that AV club list a couple of years ago. One of them dresses up in women's clothing, and one wears a banana costume, and they're called "Woo-man and the Banana," and they're legit and really good.
