Is now too early to try to convince womp he'll like Nick Cave/Grinderman even though we know he'll hate it, then we'll be surprised when he comes back and says he actually likes it, and everyone looks at each like, "I didn't see that coming."

Womp is gonna love Nick Cave.

A lot of really cool stuff I never expected on this lineup. Funny how everyone lost their shit over the Primavera lineup because their undercard was so great, yet people are bitching about Coachella because their headliners suck.

I wonder what the consensus would be if the Knife was at Coachella instead of Primavera?

Major advantages of Primavera over Coachella: Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Death Grips, John Talabot, Fuck Buttons, Jesus and Mary Chain, THE KNIFE, Fiona Apple, The Breeders, Daphni, My Bloody Valentine, Dan Deacon

Advantages of Coachella over Primavera: Modest Mouse, Sigur Ros, Violent Femmes, Vampire Weekend, Grimes

If I could choose, I would take Primavera. I'm thrilled to be going to one of them.

This is shitty for Coachella. I can't help but think that there was a bigger name intended in place of Phoenix (DP, Rolling Stones), and I think Phoenix is in that zone where they could be the sub-headliner if one of those big acts pulls a Prince 2007.

I've heard from two completely unrelated sources (I know, I KNOW) that two big names bailed. I think we all know at least one of them was the Rolling Stones.

Do you know the other name, or just that there was another name? That makes total sense to me, because if you put Rolling Stones on top of Saturday and Daft Punk (or anybody) in place of RHCP on Sunday, then you have a more typical Coachella lineup.

Daft Punk will come out and play with Phoenix. Duh.

I really like this lineup minus the headliners. The edm is stacked with artists who I enjoy and there are a lot of bands in the undercard that I'd like to see. It's better than last year imo if you ignore the headliners (which is kind of hard to do). I don't understand why The XX and Social D are listed so high though.

Nick Cave on the second line for two separate days on a festival that targets people in their early to mid 20's?! Unbelievable.

Yeah there does seem to be a lot of rap, and a lot of different kinds of rap. 2 Chainz is the best.

I'm guessing 50% reading this thread don't know this, Jello Biafra was the lead singer of the Dead Kennedys. He also testified against the PRMC in the mid 80s, along with Frank Zappa, Dee Snider, and John Denver. He's been Dr. Garbanzohting for free speech in music longer than most of you have been alive. That little annoying "Parental Advisory" label on album covers came from the PRMC, which was basically a bunch of rich house wives married to famous politicians who decided to do something other than watch soaps all day.

He's sort of a big deal, and a complete lunatic live. He's worth at least 15 minutes of your time at Coachella.
