I thought Milk Famous wasn't out until next week? Did you find a streaming leak?

I was a big fan of Fort Nightly and actually for one reason or another never even checked out It's Firghtening. Have istened to Heavy Metal off the new album and am definitely going to give the full thing a shot.

NPR seems to be streaming everything these days. It's much darker than Fort Nightly, kind of mixing the catchiness of Spoon with the moodiness of I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.

WOW. I guess I missed the transition that occurred on It's Frightening. Can't really even tell that this is the same band that put out Fort Nightly. Definitely got a lot of Spoon going on.

My first favorite album of 2012 is Paralytic Stalks by of Montreal. Barnes really brought it back from the funk (not the kind he likes) that was False Priest IMO. This is probably my favorite front-back of Montreal album, especially the last 3 tracks where the ambiance takes over.

Lyrically recommended for anyone who's recently gone through some shit. Sonically recommended for anyone who does dr0ogz, as always.

I want to just tell you that you're wrong, but opinions don't really work that way. I can understand why this album is being perceived as terrible, I just can't bring myself to not enjoy it. I have been listening to Nate Reuss' projects since I first saw the video 'Dog Problems' which had been preloaded onto my first gen PSP. The Format was an important step into the world of indie music that I hold very dear to my heart, and when I first heard fun.'s debut album I was ecstatic. I have had all of that music on heavy rotation since they first played for me. This album doesn't disappoint me at all. I love the stadium drumming, the choirs, the autochune. It is exactly what I expect out of them... to have fun.

I dunno, I feel like a tool for defending it.

By all means, defend away, no need to feel like a tool for having a differing opinion. And I'm with HG on this, I think it's great you're this passionate about them but I just don't hear what you're hearing. Pretty much everything you listed as reasons you love the album are the same ones I can't stand it. It probably didn't help that I heard how it sounded a lot like Queen/ABBA before my first listen, so that's all I could hear and I kept thinking if I had wanted to listen to Queen I would've put on Queen.

If anything, for me this album came across as one of my biggest disappointments of this year so far because I really did like We Are Young when I first heard it. I'll still give it a few more listens, just like I keep trying their other album, Aim and Ignite, which I also don't like much. But at this point they're no more than a one-hit wonder guilty pleasure for me.
