Chillwave didn't even touch their top 20 actually. Crazy times.

this is going to come as quite a shock but I like the list a lot. I'd probably like it more if it was backwards from 17-1 but I like it overall.
I don't think there is any chillwave in the top 20? Which ones haven't you heard of? If it's clams casino you should definitely grab it.

I've always wanted to eat a Clams Casino, just from the name alone. I was actually wikipediaing Clams Casino just the other day to be sure that it was the thing that I thought that I always wanted to eat. It was. I also read about these Oysters Rockafeller that sound pretty damn good too.

I've never disagreed with a Pitchfork top 50 as much as I do this year. I've never even heard of a couple of their top 20. Chill-wave? |

I think I agree the most with this list, out of any out of the past 5 years.
Also Sea Food is gross.

Danny Brown and Clams Casino, never heard of either. Based on their picture, I assumed Chill-Wave.
I think the other 18 will probably make my top 50, but I don't think any will make my top ten, except m83.

Actually on second thought calling clams casino chillwave isn't too far of the mark. His stuff is usually rapped over and has a beat but otherwise most of the hallmarks of chillwave are there. Clams is the go to producer for all of the young underground rappers right now (especially in the bay area). He's made beats for most of Lil B's best songs and he's all over that ASAP Rocky tape that's such a big deal. Hell, he even has a couple beats on Mac Miller's album that just debuted at the top of the charts the other week (they're not among his best...). He's the main reason I'm so excited about rap right now.

What the fuck is up with the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters being number 5 on CoS? I know they knew, "everyone will say wtf at the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters," but if you want to be the anti-Pitchfork while trying to gain a tiny bit of credibility, at least hang your hat on something better than the Foo Dr. Garbanzohters.
For the record, I'm probably the biggest Foo Dr. Garbanzohters homer on this board, but their album is the definition of a decent pop album; a couple outstanding songs, a couple decent songs, no flow, and three stinkers. That formula worked all throughout the 80s and 90s, but these days, albums have to be good beginning to end to be credible. Or at least I think they do? Don't they?

Knowing Know, we won't get his top 50 of 2011 until 2014. If we're lucky we'll get 35-50 by the end of 2012.

Poochfuck and CoS agree on 6 of the top ten. Nuff said. Talk about little brother syndrome.

Fuck that album and fuck Sam Beam. Such a shame that the same man that got me into indie music is dead to me now.

I actually thought for a minute (until I went over there) that CoS had listed this as the worst album of the year. But it was just a typo. That would have been funny because that shit sucked.
