Some of you may know that I have a very deep love for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. For me this love transcends beyond the music (which is very much indeed like that Bruce McCulloch quote Gramma put up) toward the individuals. I was lucky enough to see the E Street Band twice in 2009 and Clerance was KILLER at both shows. One of the concerts entailed "Born to Run" from front to back, and being the album to feature Clerance the most he was given the spotlight many times throughout the night to wail and jam with the band. It also meant we had a "Jungleland" guarantee for the night. Needless to say he and the whole band had the entire place in awe during his solo. We'll miss ya Big Man.

I am terribly saddened by this loss.

It's hard to explain but I have never really felt that connection with any other artist like I have with Springsteen, and Clarence played such a huge role in that. "Darkness on the Edge of Town" has probably been the most important album to me thus far in my life.

I too was lucky enough to see Springsteen and the E Street Band twice, and there really is nothing else like a live Springsteen show. The Big Man was such a powerful presence, even in the last couple years when you could tell he was on his last legs.

RIP Big Man, you will be missed.

It occurs to me suddenly that I'll never hear a proper 'Jungleland' live.

My feelings towards the Boss never colored my feelings for the Big Man. He was a tremendous talent.

That is pretty amazing.

I saw him in 2007 at the very start of the Magic tour, and then again in 2009 and it looked like he had aged about 20 years. He would still blow the roof off whenever he sauntered out to centre stage and ripped on his horn.
