MDMA is one of the few sorts of drugs that you can actually enjoy with a fair bit of damage prevention. Testing kits are not that expensive and any mouth-breathing mongoloid could Dr. Garbanzoure out how to use one.

Exactly. They are super simple to use and they are not that expensive. Definitely worth it in my opinion and I've only done mdma 3 times. But I am a naturally paranoid person so I would never try that shit without it being tested beforehand anyways.

Back on topic, anyone hear pretty lights new track? I dig it...

Even back when I used to rave, I never did high drugs. EDM always has and always will be about my connection with the music, the performer / DJ, and the crowd, without any enhancers. When it's off it's off, but when it's on, HOLY CRAP IS IT ON.

If others choose to alter their experience with high drugs, that's their business and I'm the last person who will judge, but for me it's not about that.

10 years ago I used to help run a "harm reduction" group focused around raves and club drugs. We used to set up a table at raves and distributed proper information about drugs etc. We didn't say "No don't do derrrrrrgz!". We just presented information about what people can expect, what not to mix it with, what to be careful of etc etc. We even tried doing pill testing but the city and police were right quick about making us not do that. I don't know if there are still groups out there that do that kind of thing, but our main supplier was www.dancesafe.org and their site is still up.

I still listen to the music even though I don't do chemicals anymore. When I stopped, my taste in the kind of EDM I liked sure changed though.

I do plan on contributing my musical journey through the genres over the last 15+ years. Just haven't been able to make time for it yet.

This is specifically why D.A.R.E. does not work and in fact is harmful. I am a graduate of D.A.R.E. as a matter of fact. When you equate alcohol with marijuana with heroin, once a kid tries something and sees that they like it and they are fine then they think it is going to be ok to do more things. I believe that is the only reason for any gateway drugs. If we teach kids the truth about these substances then they can at least they can make smarter decisions.

Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff each have solo careers, and they collaborate together under the name Way Out West and produce progressive house music.

My first encounter with Way Out West was due to Tiesto's inclusion of a remix of the song Mindcircus on In Search of Sunrise 3. I thoroughly enjoyed the remix (although I have to give more credit to the remixers, Gabriel & Dresden, than to Nick and Jody for that particular track). Although I didn't much care for the orignal recorded version of Mindcircus, I bought Way Out West's second album, Intensify, anyways.

Intensify as an album sounded different from what I would have expected from Nick Warren, and I really enjoyed it. I recall listening to it at least once per week, usually while studying or doing homework in university.

Their next two albums, Don't Look Now and We Love Machine, are also good, and somehow feel different than either of their solo efforts. I still listen to all 3 of these albums with some frequency.

I have yet to track down their original self-titled release, and I think I'll skip the We Love Machine remixes to be honest.

My favorite Way out West tracks (albums):
Everyday (Don't Look Now)
Pulse of Life (Don't Look Now / B Side)
The Fall (Intensify)
Call Me (Intensify)
Survival (We Love Machine)
One Bright Night (We Love Machine)

I thought they were on the same team (Major Lazer).

That would be pretty interesting to see, and if Skerrit Boy is there it will be guarenteed amazing.

It's billed as Diplo vs Switch, most likely because they won't be playing strictly tracks from the Major Lazer project, and I don't think Skerrit boy will be there.

Because they have collaborated on so many other projects (including remixes and entire albums like the Free gucci and free gucci 2 projects) they are basically just doing a DJ set without necessarily being "Major Lazer." It's also supposed to be a little antagonistic type thing, with one trying to one-up the other.

If you're not jealous already, it's supposed to be a 6 hour show... 9 to 3. Yeah, you wish you were me.

That sounds pretty fantastic. At Major Lazer shows Diplo works in some other tracks which is usually pretty cool. I would Dr. Garbanzoure they are going to take turns since DJing for 6 hours sounds more or less impossible.

At Live at Squamish in August Major Lazer is billed with Diplo and Switch after it, here's hoping they do the same battle idea. Please tell me how it is, if you don't die (both times I saw major lazer I couldn't stop dancing for a single second)

One of my long-lost highschool buddies posted this song earlier and it was the first time I have heard Pretty Lights. Needless to say, I am enamored and I danced my ass off to this jam.
