But the truth of the matter is, finances and personal issues are the only thing that will likely keep me from Sasquatch 2012. I just can't turn down another Coachella experience. It was truly the most insane 3 days of my life and I have a feeling that 2012 can only be bigger and better...

I'll likely be doing both. I agree with Know that the venue/crowd is absolutely better at Sasquatch, but the lineup is almost always going to be better at Coachella.

Sasquatch 2010's lineup was better than any Coachella will ever be.

I never experienced a group or single person that I found particularly annoying at Coachella. In fact, I found everyone there to be generally happier and nicer than at Sasquatch this year. Maybe my brain was too busy being flooded with beats and flashing LED's to notice...

I feel like the crowd is a huge part of any show, and have had average shows blow my mind because of a great crowd, and had fantastic shows nearly ruined because of a coma crowd, so I probably pay too much attention to the crowd. But your statement above reads like 2 + 2 = 5, because I'm scratching my head as to how you were able to avoid the douchery all weekend long. It was everywhere. It was probably more noticeable to me since I spent 90% of my time solo.

For example, if you are a roided out meat head, the way to display your manliness is to walk up to a stranger, put your face in their face staring them down, and wait for them to get out of your way. I saw this happen multiple times, and I'm not making that up. I can go on and on, but I should just finish editing my review of Coachella, because I've already ranted endlessly about this.

I really dont see how Coachella could be a better overall experience than Sasquatch. It's hotter, dustier, you cant bring beer into the campground (well, you have to sneak it in from what I understand) and it's way more crowded.

That being said, musically I'm sure it beats sasquatch pretty hard. More stages, more acts and bigger headliners. Of course this leads to more conflicts, but you still end up seeing more bands you want to see.

I hope to make it to both next year, but Coachella is probably a 2 week commitment for me so I have to have at least a few friends coming for the road trip and I have to really like the lineup. Sasquatch is only a couple days off work and I could have fun even if they have BSB/N' Sync / Spice Girls headline. The camping and the people at sasquatch is what keeps me buying my ticket every year before the lineup comes out.

Coachella was pretty hot, but I really wasn't bothered by it at all. There is so much shade and having all the tents makes it a lot easier to see acts during the day. The water situation is much better at Coachella as well (lots more accessible taps and such).

You can most certainly bring beer into the campground.

Man I don't know what the fuck was up with water at Sasquatch this year. There used to be like a dozen spigots of GOOD water between the Sasquatch and Yeti stages and they took them all out and paved over it. Then there was that ridiculous clusterfuck over by the honeybuckets with the huge mud puddle, but that one was gone halfway through the weekend too. Assholes.

SOOOOOOOoooooooo not true. Coach 2010 was WAY better than Sasq 2010. It kind of ruined my Sasquatch experience though. There was nothing better than Fever Ray live at Sasquatch. I loved 2011 Coachella, but only made it to Monday of Sasquatch this year because I went to Primavera this year. AMAZING fest. If anyone can go, Primavera is hands down the best fest. Hell this years lineup is the best I could have ever hoped for.

@ Know,

I dunno man. I just don't recall a single other person at Coachella aside from the people I was going there to meet up with. I'm very easily entertained in a setting like that so I was probably zoned out the entire weekend.

Everyone thought that the water from the sinks wasn't potable, but it was. There were at least 40 people in line for water and they watched me fill up my water bottle from the sink and take a big drink and fill it up again, and nobody got out of line.

This is all wrong with exception to the heat. You can bring in beer, just not glass bottles. It's in a polo field so it's understandable to protect the horses. I've been to two coachellas and never found it dusty with exception to one time walking back to camp on a gravel road and the same thing happened to me last day at Sasquatch. Camping is more crowded but not if you plan it properly with the right people.

I don't think it's fair to say one festival is better than the other. They're two different animals. It's all about what you look for in a festival. I'm going to try and do both, but only if one of the festivals falls on my days off.
