Blacksmile, I am glad you liked it!! I was worried that my mix would not be well received since my style of music is softer with a dark theme. It made my day to read your commentary and I am glad you are giving it a good listen. Success!

No problem, and I will continue to listen to it. It's great and in terms of style it's up my alley. I look forward to hearing other releases from these artists.

The mix I got:
Cinephile - Comatose Ha ha, is this because of COMAS? If not, happy accident. Dirty Projectors - No Intention Love the Dirty Projectors! Helio Sequence - So Stop Iron and Wine - Love Vigilantes Justin Vernon - Hazelton Fucking fantastic song! I borrowed a pair of Dr. Dre Beats over the weekend and this song brought me out of my body. His vocal effect sounded gigantic in the headphones. This was also the first time I've heard this track, by the last ringing notes I'd felt like I been on a 5 day journey. Fun stuff. Beirut - Postcards From Italy Great chune. When listening to music I really like to think about the artist and musicians in the studio, a patio or whatever and imagine the sounds physically coming from each instrument and and their fingers touching each string. It's hard to explain, but I can get myself into almost seeing the layers of music all around me. Anyway, this track was fun to imagine. Angus & Julia - Yellow Brick Road This song surprised me. Not really my style, but I didn't expect it to be as lengthy as it was and I didn't think it would have a huge dirty Neil Young solo for the last 3 minutes. Pretty cool. Great Big Sea - The Night That Pat Murphy Died I think I know whose mix this is now... Hot Chip - Ready For the Floor Sigur Ros - Festival Even though you always know where a Sigur Ros song is gonna go, it's always worth the trip. Radiohead - Let Down Givers - Up Up Up My first exposure to Givers. Kind of pretty similar to a lot of the modern Graceland pop sound going on, but the ending with all the weird chords was a nice touch. Mogwai - Bobcat Yeah, this one made me wanna pick up a pair of Beats pronto. The way it caught the low end end of the guitar was phenomenal! Epic shit fo' sho'! Bloc Party - This Modern Love Naked & Famous - Punching in a Dream Wilco - You Are My Face This has to be because of COMAS. Fucking hell, those harmonies get me everytime. Excellent COMAS song.
I actually was debating not doing the track by track thing as the main pleasure I derived from this mix was its track order and continuity. I'm not usually up to date on a lot of new stuff and can often get stuck on listening to the same big bunch of artists I love. This was almost like a breath of fresh air to hear, it didn't really matter if I only liked certain chunes a little or not at all. In the context of the mix it put me in a mood where I was enjoying all of it. The little familiar gems like a Dirty Projectors, Love Vigilantes cover, and Radiohead made it all the better. Hell, I was even digging Bloc Party's This Modern Love! I can't really stomach a whole Bloc Party album (I've tried). but as a singular chune in a mix, it was great! Seriously tight song! Big thanks to my person (Who I am guessing Pea) I had a blast listening to this!
EDIT: If the COMA references were intentional (though track 2 by the DP's says otherwise), then extra thanks for the personal touch.

Bingo Fox. Glad you liked the mix Friendly. The "Comatose" as the first track was completely accidental and I didn't mean it to go along with the final Wilco track
The Great Big Sea track was an oddball that I kind of threw in there. If I actually gave the mix a name, I would have called it the Schizophrenic Mix haha.

Late Night Sock Hop in the Darkest of Woods (In 25 parts)
So I got my mix in the mail and pulled out the CD. Awesome, yet weird cover. Not only did my person try to create a story with their mix, but they actually wrote a short story to go along with it. I sat down and listened to the first song and read the first portion of the story. I then stopped the CD and went into my kitchen. I realized that this wasn't going to be a simple story and listen through. I grabbed my bottle of port, picked out some snacks and went to work. I'll post the track listing and type out the story. Then I'll put up my review afterwards. I strongly suggest people find all of these songs and then go through the story.

Nina Simone - Sinnerman
It all feels like a dream, but you know you definitely aren't dreaming because these are definitely somebody else's thoughts. Thoughts you can feel, and it feels like someone has done something bad. Real bad. This is not a good place. That, if anything, you are most certain of. You can hear someone calling out "Sinnerman" and it makes you want to squeeze your eyes shut so tight that you may pass out. You can' see any blood, but you know there is blood everywhere...
Link Wray - Jack the Ripper
... This isn't my jacket I'm wearing you think to yourself as you examine the worn leather. You run your fingers along the tiny indents near the right hand cuff imagining they couldn't be made by anything other than human teeth. A man comes to you from, well from what appears to be nothing. It's the first time you've noticed your new surroundings and it's not just empty, but it's nothing. Except The Man. The Man says his name is Jack and his voice makes you want to shut your eyes tight once again. He tells you the jacket ket is His, but that you will need it where you will be going. He tells you once more that his name is Jack and that Jack is The Devil. This frightens you because The Devil is The Devil, but a man, a man who calls himself The Devil is not to be fucked with. But you go with him anyway. He tells you The Band will give you all the answers you need to know. If you listen carefully. He tells you that there is a Dance in the Darkest of Woods that awaits you, but first there are things you should know. Someone has killed your wife...
Plastic Bertrand - Ca Plan Pour Moi
...This is Paris you tel yourself. This is also the first instance you've thought about the time. You have no watch just as you have no memory of ever being in Paris, yet the streets seem to be as much part of you as your new leather jacket. The streets are as familiar as an old friend and you follow one. You can hear people speaking French and it's all of a sudden very probable that you can speak French too. Then you see her...
Tommy James and the Shondells - Crimson and Clover
...You're now at a party in the girl's apartment which has rugs on the walls and the people here are sitting on every surface you could fashion a seat out of. Someone is sitting on an upside down garbage can and this bothers you considerably. There are so many people here. One man with a glass eye was drinking whiskey from a wooden cup and gesticulating carelessly as he spoke of Outer Space in a sickly roar. The cup swayed without pattern as its golden contents tidal waved up only to fluidly curl backwards into the cup without making a splash. You are almost hypnotized by the liquid ballet in the old wooden cup. When you break your gaze from it you notice the One Eyed Man is looking at you, he is smiling. You aren't sure if it is a friendly smile, so you move away. As you turn around you stumble into the chest of a man who is missing one hand. He says nothing and moves past you toward the One Eyed Man. The girl is sitting on the floor with a guitar nestled into her crossed legs. All of a sudden you've completely forgotten you'd seen her earlier in the day even though you realize you are only here because she invited you to be here. You are in love with her and you mind slows down...
Adam and the Ants - Prince Charming
...The girl is slumped next to our body as you both stumble down the cobbled streets. She is very happy and you are both very drunk. You get to a door and realize you have a key for the door pressed inside your pant's pocket. It is obvious that his apartment is where you both live. You really wish you could know the time. Words are repeating in your head, almost like it is a sentence struggling to follow, but all that can be remembered are the first two words. Over and over, as if it were an engine trying to turn over. The girl is happy and in love with you. The words keep repeating until you begin to speak them aloud which soon causes you to feel intense pleasure...
Marcos Valle - Crickets Sing For Anamaria
...This is the happiest moment in your life, except you can't tell if it is a memory or if it's happening this very moment. Thins are moving very fast and it feels like you are watching a film. First you are holding hands, then you are at her parent's apartment, you're kissing after just taking a drink of red wine, then you are in a park and the park does not look like any park you know from Paris, you soon realize you have been viewing this all from outside your body. You begin to suspect that perhaps this isn't even you and that someone may be trying to get you to believe this man is you...
Raymond Scott - The Girl at the Typewriter
...You are in the place where there is nothing again. You hear music. As you focus harder on the music you realize you are not in the place with nothing, but a dark wooded area. As you follow the music you can make out the moving shapes of a band in the darkness. The Band is following the precise movements of its Band Leader. He tells you to pay attention to the music and asks you if you have seen your wife lately. He says you should get ready for The Dance and tells you that you are asking for trouble wearing that jacket to The Dance. It is at this point that you realize you have never seen The Band Leader's face the entire time and that he has been conduction The Band with his back to you all along. It is entirely possible no one has spoken to you at all...
Brenda Lee - Sweet Nothing's
...You are still in the wooded area, but now there are red and blue lights everywhere that seem to come from no specific source, just a gauzy haze. There is also a green and white checkered dance floor with an immaculate coat of varnish that causes a radiant glow. Everyone is dancing, you are sitting at the bar on a stool, watching. The people here are the most beautiful people you have ever seen. Your wife is dancing by herself on the dance floor, only you realize that she isn't. She is dancing with you. When did I leave the stool you wonder? She presses her red lips to your ear and softly whispers something about a man following her ever since the two of you decided to leave Paris all those years ago. She says she has never been more frightened in her entire life than she is right now. She hasn't stopped dancing...
