Upon reading the cover art I could see why it would listed as Puscifer... Which I agree is basically just Maynard... However, on i-chunes, they have it listed as Steven Drozd & Maynard J Keenan under 'The Heart Is A Drum Machine' Soundtrack.

Okay, so my mix arrived yesterday and I didn't get a chance to listen to it until late last night, which is normally an excellent time to sit back, relax, plug in the headphones, and enjoy some stellar musical selections. Then I read the title of my mix and realized I was in for a ride!
"Cardio Party" you say? Buckle up, it's time to get things moving! Mine came with a track list, but I decided not to look at it until after I had listened to each song. I wanted to actually experience each track as the compiler intended with out any preconceived ideas.
So, the tracklist and my accompanying reaction:
1) Metallica - Ain't My Bitch. Way to start things off with a bang! I've always enjoyed Metallica at a distance, and even seen them in concert once (again at a distance.) I wasn't exactly sure which band it was until the lyrics kicked in.
2) Van Halen - Panama. Way to rope things in with a classic rock favorite. I've always loved classic rock, and feel Van Halen is among the greatest of the great. Looks like this mix is turning into a rock anthem compilation.
3) Digital Underground - The Humpty Dance. Switching gears now! Another classic chune, and definitely a surprise considering the predecessors.
4) Daft Punk - Da Funk. Yet another classic track. Their first single if I'm not mistaken. I remember listening to this when it first came out on The End and thinking, "what is this stuff? I kinda like it!"
5) The Bravery - An Honest Mistake. Speaking of The End, I saw The Bravery at Endfest a few years ago. The year The Smashing Pumpkins were there. Not a big fan, but listening to this made me wonder what ever happened to Paramore?
6) Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon. Back to the classic rock gold. I love me some Ozzy, and I honestly didn't know what he was saying when he says "Bark At The Moon" until I read this track's title. Pretty much the story of anyone who's ever heard that guy speak.
7) Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe. Okay, honestly I had to skip this track. I've heard this song all the way through once and that is enough for me.
8) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dr. Garbanzoht Like A Brave. Nice! Suuuper old school Chilis. I'm a fan of their work, and this is an often forgotten about piece of their past. It's interesting to listen to and think about how their sound has changed. The music video to this song is priceless.
9) LMFAO - Clumsy (Fergie). This was the first ? moment so far. I had no idea what the song was nor the artist. When I looked it up I was surprised to learn they made more songs than "shots."
10) Chromeo - Fancy Footwork. Nice. I'm a big fan of Chromeo, and somehow I often overlook this track when I look for songs of theirs to listen to. A great beat, and another great track from Chromeo.
11) AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Back to the classic rock theme. This band could be the MVP of classic rock. Some serious shredding going on here!
12) Andrew W. K. - Party Hard. Opening line: "When it's time to party we will party hard." The guitars then go on to prove this point. I had never given Mr. W. K. a listen to before. Not a terrible introduction I must say.
13) TV On The Radio - Wolf Like Me. Probably their best song, and a nice fast tempo to keep up with the rest of the disc. Still crossing my fingers for a Friday add!
14) Duran Duran - Rio. Can't deny this track its props. Again, classic.
15) Darude - Sandstorm. I think my head might explode. This is one of those euro-pop songs from the 90's that everyone has heard countless times but never knows the name or the artist who does it. Now I know both!
16) Disturbed - The Game. I did not expect this guy's voice to show up after the intro music. Quickly the song jumps back into their normal style. After a while I was really expecting someone to be down with the sickness.
17) Eminem - Shake That Ass (feat. Nate Dogg). I didn't know the name of this track, but I do enjoy me some Eminem. I am also of the opinion that anything Nate Dogg touches turns to gold. His voice is like butter and I would probably become pregnant if I were a woman listening to him. R.I.P.
18) Deadmau5 - Sofi Needs A Ladder (feat. Sofi). Deadmau5!!! Nice way to end the disc. This is a new song to me, too. Took a bit for his classic beat style to drop but once it did there was no doubt.
IN CONCLUSION:
This is not the sort of mix that I would normally listen to, but I definitely enjoyed it. I don't work out at a gym or anything, and my main exercise is riding my bike (dangerous to listen to music while doing this) and playing softball and volleyball in the summer. I might throw on some of these songs next time I have people over and a dance party forms. Thanks!
I also have no clue who made it. I only have ideas about which ones of you DIDN'T make it. If I had to guess, I think the creator is most likely Barney Stinson, even though there was no Bon Jovi.

I'm just glad to see my mix was successfully received internationally... And also received with better reception then I had anticipated.
Wolf, you are being too nice about that Rednex track! It really is a laughably bad song... But I just couldn't resist putting it on there. It just fits the humor of the theme too well. It kind of reminded me of Silvertips games and the cheesiness of the old Jock Jams compilations. Also, very awesome to know that I'm not the only one familiar with the Chili's 80's stuff around here! They are probably my second favorite band!
Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the mix. After seeing what others have sent I'm already looking forward to a more obscure submission for round 2.

While I like Sandstorm as much as any other late 90s raver, every Darude song sounds like every other Darude song to me (even more so than most electronic artists, well, except ATB maybe).

That's the only Darude song I know! He has more? Lol. Sadly, my electronic/techno/trance knowledge is very limited...
Friendly: Nah. To be honest, that artwork was a bit rushed. I literally finished the music portion of this mix just hours before sending it in. I really only had that one Friday available to make it to the Post Office, so I quickly googled "funny workout pictures" and the rest was magic.

It wasn't a criticism of the mix, Hanchy. From the track list it was awesome. And yeah, Darude is kind of a one hit wonder of a sort. The EDM world is full of them.

So as I posted in the CD Exchange thread, I recieved my mix a couple of days ago. It's called Dark Matter and I posted the artwork in the other thread. There is a nice mellow vibe to this CD and it was a real treat to listen to. I've already listened to it three times and it is awesome. Some great discoveries made. Here's the tracklist w/ a brief commentary:
M. WARD - "TO GO HOME" (GREAT OPENING SONG THAT SETS THE TONE) BRIGHT EYES - "WELL WHISKEY" (SOUNDS LIKE BRIGHT EYES, NO COMPLAINTS) NICK FREITAS - "SUN DOWN" (DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM BUT I LIKE THE SONG) VILLAGERS - "27 STRANGERS" (Here we go!! First great discovery. Know nothing about them but I will be checking out more. The lyrics to this song are so good. This is my #1 song!) SEA WOLF - "I MADE A RESOLUTION" (Discovery #2. Like the song before this one is a lyrical gem) RADIOHEAD - "GAGGING ORDER" (Nothing more beautiful than Thom Yorke and gently strummed acoustic guitar) THE ROSEWOOD THIEVES - "LOS ANGELES" (Loved it! Fitting with the theme of the mix this one is a nice soft pop song that fits right in) THE DECEMBERISTS - "SLEEPLESS" (Great pick. This is one of my favorite songs by The Decemberists and it makes a nice centerpiece for the mix) THE NATIONAL - "SO FAR AROUND THE BEND" (Another good pick from the Dark Was the Night comp. Somewhat of a whimsical song for The National. It would be cool to see live) CURSIVE - "THE RECLUSE" (Had not been exposed before this. They are playing at Sled Island this year and after hearing this track I will do my best to see their set) THE HELIO SEQUENCE - "BLOOD BLEEDS" (Sadly this is one song on the mix that I did not like. I've listened to them before and was not a fan. This song did not change my mind) Dr. GarbanzoURINES - "ANGELS OF THE BAYOU" (Cool chune. Musically it reminds me of The Velvet Underground) HEATMISER - "YOU GOTTA MOVE" (Very strong song. Singer sounded familiar, looked them up and I was surpised to see that it was Elliott Smith...AWESOME!) HER SPACE HOLIDAY - "Sleeping Pills" (This is a cool little ditty and a nice segue to the big finish) CONOR OBERST - "Breezy" (Fantastic closing song. I love albums that end with a soft piano led ballad)
Overall I found this mix to be warm and releaxing. It's been playing in my car before and after work and it seems that I have had better commutes as a result. Thabnk you so much for the intro's to some of those artists.
