I still love the shit out of blink. I can't wait for their next album to come out, which is supposed to be later this year.

My little sister really loves Blink 182, and Angels and Airwaves... This is her when we met Tom. (Who I hate forever now, but she still feels the same.)

Haha that's what I was trying to show you. I'm with Tom (who I didn't really want a picture with) and my sister is the crazy one on the left.

Well, I took my sister to that show (Angels and Airwaves) for her birthday, and I paid like 40 for the tickets, plus 100 each for VIP so we could meet them and stuff. The rest of the band came out first and were really cool. They each spent some time with each fan, and signed whatever you wanted. Tom came out later and spent about 10 seconds with everyone. My sister was shaking so bad, and after the picture she said to him ' Please never go away'. She was referring to the band, but he gave her this disgusted look and hurried away. That was strike one for me. Maybe just because I didn't really want to be there in the first place, but I think if you're making money off meeting your fans who are willing to shell out, you should be nice to them.

We also got to be there for the soundcheck, in which he thanked us all for paying to come see them, but he didn't seem that sincere. Whatever. Strike Two.

Strike Three was the dealbreaker for me. During the whole show he went on an on abotut how Blink was his 'douchey' side, but AVA was his kind and loving side. He said that the albums was about pure love and yadda yadda. Then at the end of the show he said something like ' I don't know what you guys are going to do tonight after this show, because 4 of the hottest motherfuckers were just here and we all fucked your moms' Didn't seem very kind and loving to me. Basically he's a douche and I don't like him.

My sister still adores him and the band, but she almost cries whenever I mention 'never go away'.

Haha yea...that's always a bummer when a celebrity encounter can ruin your impression of them. For a similar (yet opposite) reason, I'll always respect AJ from the Backstreet Boys because of my random encounter with him in Las Vegas and how wonderful and cool he was to my little sister who was obsessed with them at that time. He was enjoying some personal time and keeping to himself but despite being at the top of the world at that time he stopped what he was doing to show his appreciation to her and to chat it up with us for a bit. Very cool and down to earth guy. Smelled like what you would expect a millionaire boy band member to smell like too haha.

See, I was always an N*sync kinda girl myswelf. ;) I won a contest on the radio to talk to Lance Bass several years ago and it made my absolute life...and then he came out of the closet. Sigh.

Anyway, I really wanted to give Backstreet Boys a chance. I really did. In eighth grade, I was embarrassingly out of place when I attended a super swanky private school for one year. I befriended some girl whose father was the president of a gigantic venue in Atlanta and he scored us tickets to the Backstreet Boys concert in addition to backstage passes to meet the boys.

I pumped myself up because I thought it'd be kinda cool to meet some celebrities. Especially huge ones like the Backstreet Boys. I went shopping for the perfect outfit, I picked a favorite boy from the band (couldn't tell you his name now), and I familiarized myself with their discography. I was officially a fan by the night of the concert. Alas, once we arrived and my friend and I got all giggly, her dad came out and said, "sorry girls, they don't feel like meeting anyone tonight".

??? Waaaaa?? I was absolutely dumbfounded.

And I didn't enjoy the show that night. I was a fan for all of maybe a week and then banished them from my teenybopper music collection. I turn my nose up at them now--they're too good to see the fans that made them who they were? AND NOW I hear that they smelled good?! Oh well. I'm over it.

kinda.

I probably would have had a ceremonial burning if that happened to me as a kid. I was pretty dramatic.
