"Futuristic Casket" by Phantogram is the best song to go running to.

I'm also adding The Clientele's Strange Geometry

Saw them with Beach House one day while just walking down the street at a tiny space for $10. I've never listened to anything other than this album, but I love it and they were great live. Beach House still needed some work back then (2006 I believe).

Did you know James Murphy was offered a job to be one of the writers for Seinfeld? He turned it down to pursue other projects and get LCD rolling. Guess he woulda been successful either way.

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Flying Lotus - Cosmo-Gramma

Oh yeah, and...

Paul Simon - Graceland

This might be a little better:

Dan Bern - Dan Bern
Steve Burns - Songs For Dustmites
Clem Snide - End Of Love
Philistines Jr. - If A Band Plays in the Woods...?
Snowglobe - Our Land Brains
Residents - Duck Stab
Chumbawamba - Un
Brian Eno - Another Green World

Regarding the Steve Burns album, I remember the review HG wrote, the first in the "album a day" thread. I recall reading Steve Burns was a children's show host, but didn't remember anything else about the review. Having read most of the other HG reviews, it's pretty obvious he likes children's music. So my brain did something like this, "children's TV host = children's music." I was picturing some John Denver Sesame Street shit. The first twenty seconds of the first track, "Mighty Little Man," starts out mellow, just like I thought. Then the song reached out, grabbed me by the back of my head, and slammed my face into a tree. That's not John Denver.

Oh Drew, first the Fleet Foxes debacle, now you are indirectly telling Gramma you don't read his album a day thread? You are not having a good afternoon.

I vaguely remember that review. Anyway, Record a Day was 10 pages deep by the time I started reading it, so I read all the early ones in an afternoon. I still haven't listened to most of those albums. BUT I'LL PICK UP CHUMBAWAMBA RECORD GODDAMNIT.
