Can't find a bigger image, but ever since I was a kid I LOVED this cover. One day I'll do a little write up about it on the "Let's recommend.." thread. A very short, very fun, very strange very catchy and full of personality album (that was not actually a "real" album). Roger is amazing, he was also Alan-a-Dale in Disney's Robin Hood.

Okay last country one (maybe),
![[image] [image]](http://images.uulyrics.com/cover/w/willie-nelson/album-red-headed-stranger.jpg)
![[image] [image]](http://ultimatetwang.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Willie-Nelson-Red-Headed-Stranger-Back-297x300.jpg)
A fantastic concept album about cheatin', preachin' and murderin'. Also "Blues Eyes Crying in the Rain" is as perfect of a country song there is and Willie does it great justice here and works it into his wild west melodrama very well.

Not to be too predictable, but you can't deny Pink Moon.

That Gorky's Zygotic Mynci sleeve is lovely. That is still just the most appalling name for a band though.

Bruce Haack!! This is no bullshit, my grand parents knew his family and used to see him preforming at the Ukranian Folk center in Edmonton. My dad did too, only he was too young to remember it.

Haack was a genius. 100 years ahead of his time.

I see alex and some people in that "ride from edmonton" thread are from Edmonton. You guys, ask your grandparents or parents if they knew him, I bet they will have stories.

He really was. You ever hear that Todd Rundgren album "A Wizard/A True Star"? (this has a pretty crazy cover as well, cool shape to the vinyl sleeve too). When I first heard that I thought, "where did he get the idea for this? He's the first!". Then I heard Electric Lucifer.

Personally I like Electric Lucifer 2 even better. His vocoder stuff is mindblowing, plus it's got a distinct Residents/Tom Waits/Cookie Monster flavor that puts nice edge on the Powerlove philosophy.

Haven't heard that Rundgren album, but it's going on my list (it's an actual list, and I actually just wrote it in there).

Have you seen that "King of Techno" doc?
Also last post of this nature before I'm banned for going off topic, but Edmonton has played host to Bruce Haack, Brion Gysin, Marshall McLuhan, Tommy Chong, Leslie Nielsen and Bruce McColloch. These are all people who legitimately entertain/interest me regardless of my personal ties. This isn't even counting the likes of Shannon Tweed, David Foster and Robert Goulet. Not too shabby for a remote northern prison. (Nickleback is also somewhat from the area, but let's just keep that between you and I)

Yeah, the 'King of Techno' was really interesting. A lot of incredible archival footage on there. I've been meaning to watch it again.
And since I'm thinking of it, this one's right at home in this thread (and is one of the the greatest "comedy" albums of all time):
