You know I hate speculating about how much an act costs and the effect that has on Squatch's likelihood or ability to book them, but one thing I can tell you for sure is that Animal Collective does NOT cost more to book than Deadmau5.

Talk about everything awesome that is Animal Collective, how screwed up their lineup placement at Coachella is, and how little of a chance they have to be on Sasquatch's lineup.

I'm not going to be moving posts very often, but when 50% of the board's 1,000 post club members list AC as one of their favorite bands, why not give the band their own thread?
For the record, I think AC belongs closing out the Wookiefoot if they are on the lineup. I have no idea why they are billed that high on the Coachella lineup. It makes zero sense.

I just think bands with a deep catalogue and devoted fans, but not quite big enough to headline or subheadline, should close the wookiefoot (excellent) no matter what. They deserve to be at night, they deserve to go up against whatever hot-shit-at-the-moment band is 2nd or 3rd act on the main, and they deserve to be able to do an encore. It's kind of a unique slot for a music festival.

That would have to be a LOT of money. Regardless, I'm really excited to see that Animal Collective has some dates scheduled because they've kept pretty quiet since the round of touring they did for MPP.
I saw Avey, Deakin and Geologist when they came through supporting ODDSAC; man they looked uncomfortable, doing a Q & A with a bunch of high school kids. Deakin's back in the band now and I'm just so curious to see what they're going to do next.

I hate how late I am on all these posts. But I'm going to agree with everything said here. Animal Collective = amazing. More than that really. Squatch can make it happen. The past line ups have in my opinion been way better than Coachella's. I have faith in it this year (:

Animal Collective are simply AMAZING. And I agree with the individuals that believe that think they should close the Wookie. I'd be okay with them headlining, but that just won't happen, but they totally need a night slot. That was apparent at their mind melding 09 performance. It is still one of my favorite moments of Sasquatch, to see a sea of lost souls during their awesome set.

My heart started to flutter when I opened up their dates. To be honest I think my soul would have been crushed because I was already bummed about Cut Copy. While there is no conclusive yes or no, the hope is still in the air.
