Thanks for the in depth reply Lump. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I felt the same thing about the crowd at their Coachella show, the bros around me didn't hear their favorites from MPP, therefore it sucked. I heard more than one near me apologizing to their friends for how terrible the show was, but it was one of my favorite live experiences in a long time. To think, Animal Collective is now the band all the indie kids hate because they are too weird? Hilarious. I agree with what was said earlier by Drew, MPP gave them a new audience, but that is not the band they are, at all.

I got as close as I could at Coachella, but they played between Mumford and Sons and the Arcade Fire, so I'm not sure how I could have beat too many radio freaks to the front. However, from where I was, I also saw Panda drumming the entire show (and singing), but I thought for sure he played the keys with his off hand a couple times? Did you not see that (I know you had a better view)?

Agreed, Geologist is the backbone of their "new" sound, popular even, and Deacon added a very AC/DC old skool feel to their performance, but I still dig the hell out of everything Avey does. I'm guessing their cheezy second grade art school trippy visuals were still being displayed on each side of the stage, like they were at Coachella?
