Funny you say that, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About is one of my absolute favorites ever.

Well, I was going to say that Moon is excellent driving music, but then I thought about it for a second, and realized that it all is.

TM&A is for driving at night, TIALD is for driving through the greener parts of the Pacific NW, Good News and We Were Dead are for driving in the city (as is Building Nothing to a degree), and LCW is for driving through central WA.

Those all sound about right. Off MM for a sec, but my best driving/music experience was listening to Turn On the Bright Lights while driving over the viaduct into Seattle. Seriously the best thing to listen to for city driving.
Back to MM, I would say that the third planet is something that's great to kick off a road trip with. Also, does anyone think that Neverending Math Equation belongs right before paper thin walls? Try it sometime.

To the point where when I still hear it on tracks off their current albums, I go, "meh".
Still my favorite band though; they'll always hold a special place in my musical heart.

A Life of Arctic Sounds is the best track to start a roadtrip with.

And for less known gems I suggest Whenever You See Fit with 764 Hero and The Fruit That Ate Itself EP.

The 7M6M4 EP is so good, but even as a huge fan of Modest Mouse, I can't seem to get into the Fruit That Ate Itself. It has been a source of great shame.

And thanks for the little, Washington map:MM album guide, I8. Next time I'm up there, I'm going to try this out. I actually will drive around down here in the southeast listening to MM yet picturing the parts of the PNW I've been to in my head.

And LCW is for damned sure what I'd pick for central Washington.
