One of my favorite t shirts, and yes, I get that 92% of you have no idea what this means.

And to answer your obvious question, yes, I own it, and yes, it gets my 9 rounded up a lot.

Ive always been bummed that when they were putting on shows like this, I was in 7th grade and not yet listening to anything that could be called "good music".

By the time I got into MM, Good News had just come out but I quickly found myself attached to "This is a Long Drive..." and their other older albums.

Man I would rather not see Modest Mouse at a festival. They played for free last year in Salt Lake, and 40,000 people showed up. My friend left the crowd during the middle and told me she was going to the back. The back was literally the end of the park.

Haha yeah, a couple friends of mine drove from Boise to SLC to see them play that show and said it was terrible. What can you expect from a free show where they dont limit how many people can be there though?

Modest Mouse live has certainly appeared to get rather...dry compared to their older live perfromances but everytime Isaac opens up and belts out a raspy yell its still pretty awesome. Also, that dude seriously sweats.

Modest Mouse live is depressing. It used to be like seeing the fae of God. Now it's unlistenable.

Dude is one step away from becoming Billy Joe Armstrong.

It means that the next logical step for Brock is to license his material to some kind of musical revue so that he can rest on his laurels for the rest of his life and never be required to write another good song. Just like Green Day, as soon as there was major mainstream success for Modest Mouse Isaac eliminated the open-vein ferocity that got them to where they are because now they're a brand name and nothing is required of them except to show up and play the songs.

Just compare whatever the hell that last record was called to 'Building Nothing' or 'Moon' and try to tell me we're even listening to the same band. I know you love em dude, but they are pitiful spectres of what they used to be and that isn't more apparent anywhere than in performance. I haven't heard Billy Joe sing 'Longview' lately, but I imagine it sounds just as fake and ridiculous as MM sounded last time I saw them.

I really enjoyed their last album. It was 10 times better than "Good News". I think as far as Isaac's live performances go I would say that he is a lot more sober these days than he used to be. I saw them 5 years ago and Isaac could barely remember the lyrics versus their Sasquatch performance when he actually looked functional.
