Considering they're playing the Paramount in February, I doubt Decemberists will be playing Sasquatch either

The Decemberists will absolutely be at Sasquatch 2011. That's happening.

Swans are playing Primavera and Seattle in Feb. I'd imagine they won't be playing.

Interpol is also playing in January, so hopefully they aren't coming back this year.

Yeah I hope this holds true. If they were there I could see them taking the lower sub headlining spot of a much more deserving band, in my opinion.

So true. They are a bland live band and without Carlos D they aren't even a shadow of the band they started as.

Am I the only person that hasn't enjoyed anything Interpol has ever put out?

I have not enjoyed one of their albums in its entirety. To me there are some songs I dig and then what seems like a lot of filler. But I have plenty of friends that swear by them, especially their first album, so I'm not sure what to think.

Its interesting to look in the past and see how super hyped bands turned out. When the whole rock revival started in the early 2000s with the White Stripes, the Strokes, YYYs and Interpol leading the way, there was huge amounts of pressure to save rock. The White Stripes and YYYs faired quite well both changing up their sound and having great albums as a whole beside their first couple albums. The Strokes (whom I love) and Interpol had break out freshman albums that are considered modern classics even today, however, have faltered to try to come up with something even remotely close to those albums. Its interesting that when Benicassim announced the Strokes as one of their headliners, I found it funny that they said that they were more than just a one hit wonder. The Strokes are pretty awesome live but had never considered them to be a one hit wonder!

I would never consider The Strokes to be a one hit wonder. But I would say they have greatly dropped off as the albums progressed. No matter what anyone says I still think their next album will be great (fingers crossed).
